"The Bench" was filmed entirely on location at an historic city park. All the buildings in the film are original structures from the early 1900s. The railroad car in the background is one of very few restored Interurban electric trolleys in existence and the automobile is an original (not restored) operating 1927 Nash sedan.
Rachelle Henry, the young actress who plays 'The Girl on the Bench,' had a difficult time not laughing when her character was supposed to be shocked. In fact, cast & crew ended up laughing with her. It was only her professionalism that saved the moment and she ended up properly astonished in the scene.
Won the Northwest Prize in a juried competition at the 8th annual Children's Film Festival Seattle (2013).
