One of the best, calm, enjoyable isekai

This is genuinely one of the best isekai I've ever seen especially in a genre that relies on anime girls bouncing their t1ts as a stronghold to get all the kids interested. This anime reminds me of a chill, something I could watch and get done in a day or two, or something I could just watch anywhere overall and of course the art is beautiful its calming it has a nice story some lose ends like, how does his power work, how come he somehow gets online shopping, and what happened to the others how do their power work, but then again this is an isekai anime not a marvel movie lol, but perfect non the less I genuinely hope the genre isekai can take a lot of inspiration from this anime because this proves u do not needs anime girls bouncing their big uwu t1ts around to make an anime interesting. Prefect anime def one of my fav reminds me of reincarnated as a slime in the aspect of just calming and beautiful story line and reminds me of bofuri in just adventure and art- wise. MAPPA DID ITS THING ON THIS.

A Wholesome, Adventure - Filled Foodie Experience"

"Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi is an anime that will leave your mouth watering and your heart full. The animation style is not only nostalgic, but also visually stunning, bringing the dishes to life in a way that will make you want to reach into the screen and taste them. The journey of adventure and the bonds formed along the way are all the more enjoyable when paired with the mouth-watering and delicious food that is central to the story. The main character, a culinary genius, brings a sense of warmth and comfort as he shares his dishes and skills with those around him. The added elements of danger and mystery add an extra layer of excitement to the series. Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi is not just an anime, it's an experience for your senses, where the beauty of food is at the forefront and will keep you engaged and wanting more."

A One Of A Kind Masterpiece

I've never been a huge anime fan, but Campfire Cooking changed that for me.

I'm currently watching the series for the 5th time, and it still gives me the same amount of happiness and joy as it did the first time I watched it. Watching Mukoda and company as their simple (or rather less than at times) adventure unfolds is the perfect thing to help one unwind after a long day. And of course, the food is amazing.

It doesn't matter to me how overpowered the main characters are, I honestly find it refreshing. Within the show, creativity abounds, and the art style and the food it creates is magical. The dialogue is enjoyable and well thought out as well.

If Campfire Cooking doesn't get a 2nd season, I along with many others I'm sure will be extremely disappointed. The world needs more shows just like this one, escapism has never been so delicious and light hearted!

If you want a chill (slow), moderately funny, slide of life anime, revolving around cooking, then this Anime is for you

If you want a chill (slow), moderately funny, slide of life anime, revolving around cooking, then this Anime is for you. I recommend taking notes for this Anime, I didn't know that Japan had so many variety of delicious foods. The truly interesting thing about this Anime is the cooking and the dishes you can research later. It's entertaining and it cheers you up if you are in sa down mood. The action scenes are not very engaging since the main characters are overpowered, but that's expected on a Isekai. The animation is good. The characters are chill, my favorite was the slime (sui), is very cute and useful.

To claim

To claim that Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi, also known as Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill, written by novelist Ren Eguchi, is the now-famous studio MAPPA's first-ever Isekai endeavor-that is, that this show is MAPPA's Peak-sekai-is not wholly unfounded. Undoubtedly, as a whole, it's fantastic, and MAPPA DID SUCCESSFULLY showcase a respectable Isekai for the first time.

Tsuyoshi Mukouda, the master chef and cowardly salaryman who is the MC, is called to an other realm. In this episode, Mukohda, equipped with the power of the "Online Supermarket," and the "Hero's Party" organization are set up to assist the kingdom in driving out demons. After persuading the nobility, Mukohda eliminates himself from the Isekai race and gains freedom to travel the fantastical realm.

The opening theme song is standard fare for an Isekai series of this kind. The debut song by Van de Shop, "Anisong," blends in nicely with the seductive imagery and sounds alright. Similarly, Yuuma Uchida's ED song "Happy-go-Journey" sounds ordinary as well, so that's not a problem. To put it mildly, it's merely passable, in my opinion.

Among the many copy-paste Isekai shows this season, Cooking Isekai is a breath of fresh air. Despite not being an OP power fantasy, this program is among the greatest we've seen this season since it's just a campy, carefree look at life.

A very chill and enjoyable experience!

As the title of the show suggests, it's a show mainly about cooking. But that doesnt take away from the usual adventure RPG-like theme isekai anime generally have. There are battles, but they dont drag on. Nevertheless, that doesn't mean the battles aren't fun to watch.

Is this harem? Nope.

Is this ecchi? Nope.

Is it violent? Has blood and death (they have to hunt food), but I would not describe it as gory.

Is it a romance anime? Nope. (I dont know if Season 2 has any romance) Is the story completed? As of writing this, the manga is still ongoing. Season 2 is still awaiting green light.

If you want to experience a chill adventure show, look no further! It's the first show I've grown to love so much that I went here to create an account just to give it a 10/10 rating in hopes to see a Season 2 in the near future. I usually don't care.

If you're looking for a soft and chill vibe

I just binge-watched all 12 episodes today (30th Sept 2025). This anime falls into the isekai-comedy-fantasy genre. It follows the typical isekai vibes and rules we've all seen before, but despite that, it still manages to take a different approach.

In my opinion, the story feels very calm and soft. There's no over-the-top aura fights or insanely OP main character here. Instead, it sits in the same lane as shows like Delicious in Dungeon. The main character isn't a warrior - he just knows how to cook. And in this new world, no one can prepare food the way he does.

We get to see different types of fantasy beasts and animals being turned into delicious meals, while also following the MC's adventure.

The animation is by MAPPA, so I don't even need to say anything there - it's solid as always. I didn't really notice anything extreme in terms of visuals, though I did find the goddess's outfits a bit bold.

The story itself is quite simple so far. And the way Season 1 ends, I'm honestly okay waiting for Season 2.

For me, it's a one-time watch anime, but definitely worth it if you want something different - away from the usual edgy, brutal, aura-filled fight anime. If you're looking for a soft and chill vibe, this is a must-watch.

⭐ Rating: 7/10 And yes, Season 2 is expected to release very soon, possibly around October.

An adorable and funny gem that almost slipped by me.

With this wonderful anime not getting much press, it almost slipped by me.

It didn't even take half an episode before I was hooked. Usually you have to watch a few episodes to get to know the characters and story, but this one was entertaining form the first second on.

The animation was good, but nothing to be wowed by. The writing however was perfect. I wouldn't change a thing about it.

Funny, moderate action, adorable characters and it successfully pulled off the "foodie" genre as well.

It doesn't cross into the "mature audience" zone either, so kids can watch it too.

Don't let this year go by without watching this wonderful. Anime.

Not to shabby

Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill serves up a fun and cozy twist on the overdone isekai genre, but doesn't quite hit the full flavor profile.

The show follows Mukouda, an average guy transported to a fantasy world who ends up relying not on combat, but on his unique power: the ability to order modern-day groceries through a magical online store. It's a charming premise, especially for fans of food-centered anime. Watching Mukouda whip up delicious dishes and win over powerful creatures (like the gluttonous Fenrir) is relaxing and at times, genuinely entertaining.

Visually, the food is the star - animated in mouth-watering detail - but the world around it often feels flat and lacking depth. The storyline leans heavily into slice-of-life territory, which might appeal to some, but it also means the stakes feel low and the pacing slow. Character development is minimal, and most episodes follow a predictable loop: find ingredients, cook food, impress companions.

Overall, it's a light, easy watch with some clever moments and good vibes. But unless you're in it for the food or the laid-back atmosphere, it may leave you feeling like something's missing from the main course.

My thoughts and Season 2 hopes

I really Loved the series, Mukohda was such a sweet character and I loved his personality, Fel was funny and Sui calling him Uncle Fel is hilarious to me. And as for Season 2 I really hope. Mukohda can...(I mean this in the best way) kinda grow a bit of a backbone and help kill the monsters because not gonna lie it kinda got annoying just seeing him standing there...even Sui is stronger than him, now for Fel I really hope he actually cares for Mukohda as a person and not only for his cooking because if he only love him for his cooking(his food looks amazing btw) that'll kinda tick me off a little. Sui has nothing to change because Sweet Slime ~w~

Relaxing Tv Show

I started watching this show because the premise of a cooking anime was interesting (never seen one before). I immediately fell in love with the light and comedic storytelling of this show. There is hidden "drama", but it is never brought upon (example: Mukouda responsible for Fel in cities, but there is never any problem arising). This at least in season 1, I'll have to see from season 2 forward, but I hope they keep the same narrative structure.

This is just a simple show of a hungry, powerful wolf and his "chef", with some fantasy-deriving creatures, magic and lots of food.

Among the many intense shows around nowadays, this is one you can watch and finish the viewing with a smile, no matter the episode.

About a dude got isekai'd to another world and charmed everyone by his cooking skills. Super good anime

If you're looking for a GOOD, time-worthy anime to watch to relax, THIS is for you. The main character is chill, laidback and a bit coward on the end but is getting better at battles with time.. Anime is basically about a regular salesman got transferred to a world about Magic. Where he makes friend everywhere he goes and finish tasks with his two spirit guides. My rate on this anime is 9.5/10. If you're looking for a GOOD, time-worthy anime to watch to relax, THIS is for you. Calming Anime

I'm into Isekai animes this Campfire Cooking in Another World isn't your typical isekai. The main character reaction being transmigrated is just like a typical human being, scared confused but willing to survive.

An Anime with balanced adventure, cooking and slice of life stories. It's very relaxing. I've watched other anime series twice to three times only but this series made me watch as if I never watched it before and keep coming back for it. Can't even count how many times I've watched it.

It's very easy to watch, will make you want more episodes and will definitely will make you HUNGRY!!

I'm really craving for season 2.

Grocery Shopping Has Never Been This hyped

Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill (aka Hero Skill: Online Supermarket) is a delightful twist on the isekai formula that doesn't rely on epic battles or grand prophecies to hold your attention-it wins you over with food, charm, and a low-stakes, comfy vibe.

Rather than a sword-wielding savior, the protagonist uses his unique ability to buy modern Japanese groceries in a fantasy world. It's absurd... and it works. The show thrives on its laid-back tone, humorous character interactions, and the unexpectedly detailed food animation. Watching fantasy creatures go wild over teriyaki chicken and pudding is oddly satisfying.

Fel is a scene-stealer, and the chemistry between him and the main character adds a cozy, slice-of-life energy that's rare in the genre.

That said, the series lacks real dramatic tension, and some episodes feel repetitive in structure. Viewers expecting high-stakes action or deep worldbuilding may be disappointed.

It's a wholesome and original isekai that leans into culinary charm over combat-great for fans of relaxing fantasy adventures.
