The inspiration for this short film came from a cartoon by The Perry Bible Fellowship "Baby", in which a girl finds an egg in the woods. And it hatches something unexpected. Changes were made to what actually is in the egg, but the starting idea is there.
The actor doing the newsreader at the end of the movie is Julian De Backer, who has a habit of showing up as an extra in the director's work since their first collaboration on "Pink Shades". He was cast as the voice of the newsreader because the last time he was supposed to show up as an extra, it didn't work out. He walked through the scene, but the editing turned out so that wherever he was, he always ended up in the other camera angle... His role here was too essential to cut.
