Piece of garbage to be avoided at all costs

Terrible , just terrible. Most movies have some saving grace, this doesn't . Best avoided.

    Like a bad 'Chasing Amy'

Max Landis clearly had an idea that is presented well at some moments but completely missed at others. While it's far from bad, it's also just as far from good. The performances are spot on, Haley Osment feels like Michael Cera in 'This Is The End'. The general plot does give a borderline 'Chasing Amy' feel, but Max does manage to bring a much more surreal and intimate take on it. As I said, this works well in some scenes more than others. Not a perfect film, but exactly what I was expecting from such a creative and surreal writer. The indie atmosphere is certainly an acquired taste, but if you have a certain appreciation for the film industry, then you won't feel like you're wasting time watching this film.

    Hilarious and Eccentric

Honestly, I loved this movie. It was comedic and touching without taking the viewer on an emotional roller-coaster. Having grown up in Los Angeles, I could really relate to the jokes regarding the city itself. It is by no means a movie that can be taken 100% seriously, as there are plenty of things that don't make sense and would never happen in real life. It has trippy elements to it that make it seem like the characters are sometimes high out of their minds. For some this might take away from the plot and make it seem insincere, but for me it just made me laugh even more. If you're looking for a lighthearted movie with major gay characters, some drama, and a silly adventure, you've hit the jackpot.

    Gets Lost Along The Way

Ultimately disappointing treatment of celebrity trying to come out as gay to family and public. It gets so lost along the way but manages to treat some issues like the obligations of friendship and the pain of relationship endings. But it does present a loving lesbian couple as a positive and even Cory is ultimately a realistic portrayal of a douchebag. And it has a LOT to say about LA! Dustin Mulligan and Emily Mead do great jobs playing their unlikeable characters. But unfortunately the issue of a gay actor coming out gets quietly lost amongst it all. (Stay until end credits finish though!)

Addicticve, super entertaining Story, although restricted by monogamy-mindset

Brilliant Max Landis adoption of a story about the mental torments of members of the LA gay/lesbian citizens restricted by their monogamous family culture /upbringing.

Seriously entertaining, apart from that in times of Polyamory being widespread the story is hard to relate to, except you're at the same mindset as the protagonists.

Nevertheless no lame minute thanks ro Max Landis. Bring it on! (..nothing lately..whats up?)
