I hope the movie industry can produce more Filipino movies like this to affirm how beautiful our family culture is. Kudos to the script writer Mel del Rosario, director Nuel Naval and to the realistic and powerful cast! Many would say that this is just another ordinary Filipino movie...But challenge yourself and put it in mainstream Hollywood and you won't find anything like this. This is something that really makes me proud as a Filipino! How many of us truly appreciate the concern siblings put into orchestrating parents' activities among themselves, making sure that mom and dad receive the best care? How many of us appreciate giving up our gadgets in order to focus on our loved ones? Thanks so much Family Matters for reminding us of things we could be taking for granted...
So I just moved to Cebu Philippines from New York State. I really used to love movies in the US. However they mostly have made garbage for the past few decades.
This movie was inspiring. Showed a realistic family and problems they might have. However also they showed the love and closeness that they had also.
Honestly the contrast between US and Philippines culture is on full display.
Respect for parents, older uncles etc.
It's a nice break from Hollywood tearing everything down, watch it.
It reminds me of the USA in my youth 70s and 80s.
Great movie, Hollywood take notice.
Movies like Rocky, Kramer vs Kramer are what people want to see.
Not another comic book movie or some depressing slasher movie.
