    Revolution! in Indian TV series

Being a ho\uge fan of foreign TV series i never thought that Indian television can even come close to them. But i must say this TV series is actually better than most of the foreign TV series.

Story is awesome, greatly directed and hats off to the dialogues !

Each and every character is really good played and the diversity in characters really brings this TV series above all. Every character is show stealer in its own way !

I really hope MTV India comes up with more its seasons and help the Indian TV industry to actually deliver something worth watching !

    Indian TV coming of age.

Indian TV is generally synonymous with regressive story lines, shoddy direction, bad writing, one-dimensional performances... lets face it, for anyone with any kind of sensibility, Serialized television in India is frankly unwatchable, with the exception of maybe one or two shows.

In the midst of all this, comes Bring On The Night, with a high powered adrenalin injection straight into the jugular of the Indian television scene.

Shot in Hindi and English with some Marathi thrown in, it is the story of 4 friends, christened 'The Wolfpack' and led by sensitive entrepreneur KD, they start a party hangout joint for like- minded people. The philosophy being, 'When the party ends, where do people go to party?'

What follows is ten episodes of intelligent writing, brilliant acting, fantastic music, and excellent direction. Every episode is crammed with interesting characters, and genuine laugh out loud moments.

But its not all fun and games, there is a lot of depth to the story and characters.

Each actor brings something to the table. Devang, played played extremely sincerely by Husain Dalal is funny, especially when he is playing confused and out of his depth. Patrick, played by Patrick Graham completely succeeds in bringing the feeling of being the stranger in a strange land, but completely at home. Maakad, played by Sarang Sathiye brings a kind of sensitivity to the character not often seen. His conflict is felt by the viewers, and its the easiest thing to get behind him and root for him. The three Parsee characters, Xerxes, Hoshang, and Darius, played by Afshad Kelawala, Kashyap Kapoor and Danesh Irani respectively provide the comic relief, some of it gratuitous, but all of it brilliant.

With so many characters, each one written and performed on point, it is very difficult to stand out when you are playing the straight man, but Arjun Mathur, who plays KD, doesn't seem to struggle, and manages to more than hold his own. A role that needs to be fun, intelligent, and sensitive is brought to life with his performance, and by the time the series is at midway point, manages to become the most engaging of the lot.

I could go on, but I won't. Instead, I urge anyone who reads this to get on the MTV India website and check the show out on their own accord. You will not be disappointed.

Bring On The Night: A mini series on MTV, brings a fresh lease of life to Indian Television

BRING ON THE NIGHT – where night comes alive, every night….night after night.

A story of four friends – KD, Devang, Patrick and Maakad. They set out to turn a 200 yr old building into an underground all night party destination.

KD, loves to call himself a party designer. He is the mastermind behind this crazy plan. The suave, passionate and always ready to experiment, but loses his cool when his emotions are tested.

Devang, the quintessential gujju helps to execute KD's dream finding a 'jugad' for every hurdle. The goofy software engineer always dressed in formals, who agrees for an arranged marriage, is just the outer shell of conformity. Inside, he is the ultimate prankster who can kill you with his humour peppered with a volley of galis.

Patrick, the Anglo- Desi with a creative mind and love for gadgets. He is like an exotic dish served on a thali. He turns this old dilapidated building into a snazzy party haven with his unique techno art.

Maakad, the do all local guy, does everything to keep the place running. From getting permission to hold a concert in the backyard of the building, to pulling strings with the reigning political family, Makar does everything. His intense eyes speak more than his words, loves is friends genuinely. But wherever he goes, troubles follow him.

The Parsi boys top up the dose of humour with their crazy antics. The girls - the chef and the bartender, complete the set up with a pinch of romance.

Together, they succeed in making it a place where party flows all night with booze, gigs, gaming sessions and more, but not without the hitches and glitches…..

From the Maska pav mornings to heady cocktail nights, the story brings alive the young, urban face of Mumbai but has a certain rawness to it that keeps it quite Indian at the core. The camaraderie between the characters is enacted with ease by the actors and the fluidity of dialogues takes it a notch above just good.

The episodes have a pace to match with the GenX needs. A clever thing to do keeping in mind since the target audience has a very short attention span and is spoiled for choices when it comes to entertainment. The montages showing the social media's role in building the place, lend it an even faster pace and topicality. The background score compliments the storytelling. Heavy hard rock scores when it's apt and soft acoustics when it should be.

In all a fresh script, stylized in a super slick fashion with smart direction and editing. Thanks to the makers for bringing a new lease of life to fiction series on Indian Television which is inundated with the so called young romantic tales wrapped in the same old banarasi saree. Hope it brought the urban youth back to the couches, keeping aside their smart phones to take a look at the Idiot Box. Oops! The official version is available on youtube too.

The AWESOME first web series from India.

This show was a first of it's kind. I saw this when it came out and I got a time to watch this again and I've to say it is still one of best web series from India.

This was a fresh breathe for Indian TV, which is generally full of trash. Bring on the night has awesome story, great acting, intelligent dialogues and excellent direction. Even the background score was above par.

I can go on and on, but I recommend this show to anyone, even to people from foreign country.

'When the party ends, where do people go to party?' They go to BRING ON THE NIGHT!

    Not worth missing!

Everything about this web series is just spot on. From dialogues to cinematography, production design, story casting. Everything is just perfect, and that's what makes it a treat to watch. Can't believe this came in 2012 and I'm watching it now. It's certainly not worth missing.
