Journey of a Female Comic

It can be tough to be funny. Especially if being funny is your way of life as comedian Kiki Melendez found out. In her movie, Journey of a Female Comedian she takes the viewer on her journey inside the entertainment world. She has been hailed as the Latino Oprah and her take no prisoners approach style of observational humor is on full display. This movie has cameos from all type of folks that know Kiki and shares how the road to stardom can be long and tedious. This movie was part of the 2014 Georgia Latino Film Festival, where Kiki received an award. The movie serves as an inspirational tale of trying to make it in show business.

I love seeing a positive movie about Latinos and the struggles that lead kiki into her journey overcoming all the obstacles that come with it, the fact that her mom made her the warrior she is today was very touching note on this docu-comedy. I am sure she is watching very proud from above... We need more films like this!

The film has a lot of A-list celebs. Their interactions with kiki and experiences in the past are hilarious. Kiki sure knows how to get what she wants out of celebs even when its asking TV Mogul Aaron spelling why there's no Latina on Melrose place? or putting Marc Anthony in the spot by saying she is the only woman in his life (we know that can never be true lol. There were moments like the multi-lingual sampler by Esai Morales which had the crowd rolling. Overall this is a must see its inspiring to see the hard work of a persons dream come true in the big screen. 10!
