The Sound of Southside was an amazing film. From the very beginning the jazz music that was being played was so amazing and the views and lens of the community being shown were truly something to see. A real in depth look into the beauty of Southside Jamaica Queens New York. They call Queens the world's borough because there are representatives and neighborhoods from people all over the world. One of the most diverse communities around filled with amazing food, entertainment and history. The storyline was a one of one look into the current situation going on in the community dealing with gentrification and corrupt politics while also showing the music culture and a great love story.
The Sound of south side was an excellently told story of love and learning with music at the core.
The production was done well to bring the viewer into the experience of life in a diverse environment.
The overal vibe was similar to If Beale street could talk. It was warm and inviting and familiar to those who have seen this view. These streets. This gives. These beats.
I really appreciate the way the music and the community played such a big part in the story.
James Ross makes a definitive statement. His stage presence and connection to his costars really brings the emotion to life.
I recommend many people to see this film and see it more than once.

Dope dope film. Loved the characters, the music, the scenes! Big up to "The Sound of Southside" and it's creator Tyrel Hunt 💯💯💯
The characters were realistic and also varied in their moments in life. Witnessing the levels of life of the characters was great and can be relatable to our own lives.
The rhythmic music was on point and really matched the scenes and vibrations of the moments.
I love that we felt the pain and happiness of the characters and felt their successes and unhappy moments. Really can't wait for a part two!!!.
All neighborhoods deserve to have their story told through all the phases of their existence.

This film relates to issues of today and the struggle for Black communities and people to create and keep legacy and progress. I would recommend young and old to see this film as a Queens native it feels me with tremendous pride to see this young Director make this film. The actors were able to reach the audience and connect and relate. I would encourage everyone to see this film and to see it in the Jamaica. Neighborhood where the story and filming takes place was amazing. Everyone should watch the movie several times. It's a beautiful love story as well and story about immigration and community.
Enjoyed the entire film, from the views of Queens and the music. The actors were really talented as well! Well done film! The scenes really captured south Jamaica Queens in a bigger light, the director did an amazing job representing the different characters and cultures in Queens overall. This film shows a big celebration and culture in Queens and brought a new look on how others can view South Jamaica Queens. I would definitely recommend and share this film with others so that they can see the amazing work that has been shown. By taking a look at current themes of Jazz music, representing cultures, and community.
