Episode #1.5

The search for Sinead continues, but proves fruitless, the lack of progress is too much for Hannah to take, sending her off the rails, and into a reckless drive.

A pretty good penultimate episode, don't get me wrong, it's far from perfect, there are plenty of questions still unanswered, but this was good, it did drive the story forwards, at least we know the deal between Richter and Aileen.

I'm still not convinced about the identity of the killer, it's definitely a setup.

So that's one mystery solved, as for the rest, I'm still not sure we've had all of the answers yet. That big reveal came out of nowhere, and I'm keen to learn what the story is.

Best scene, definitely that fun moment where Richter and Diana share a joint on the steps of The Police Station, humour hasn't played a part in this series, so it felt good, it worked well.

Richard Flood was excellent I thought, and his story is very sad.

I asked for Michelle Fairley to have a bigger role, and she is definitely more present in this fifth episode, I still feel that she's been underused.

The pace of the story telling is agonizingly slow. Without the last 3 minutes of the episode all we saw was a rehash of parts of the first 4 episodes. Aarrgh. Why do we have 6 episodes when it could have been told in four or five episodes. The sex scene was unnecessary to the story or character development. There isn't a flow to the story, it hopscotches between local rituals and 2 cases sixteen years apart. Why do we have that surprise with no explanation. I am at the point where I don't care whether Sinead was kidnapped or killed. We know nothing of the character so why should I care what has happened to her.
