Porcelain Presence

Trivia

Porcelain Presence

Edit
A few hours before Anna Tarsh auditioned for the character of Anna Darnell, the casting team found her name carved into a nearby table, and deemed it fate.
When the first ever draft of Porcelain Presence was written, it was intended to be a 25 minute short film.
Porcelain Presence is a 100% self-funded feature film.
The idea to bring porcelain dolls into the film came about when directors Eliza and Sparky were searching for teacups for their 2011 short film 'Oh Tea Tea' in Chris' garage. They found a creepy old porcelain doll with a foot missing, which was left by some previous owners. This doll is now featured in Porcelain Presence, as a gift from Brian Darnell, to his wife Anna.
When creating the character of Esther, writers Eliza Bibb, Sparky Jones and Nicholas Mills likened the character to that of Annie Wilkes in the film Misery. Toni Griffiths was cast as Esther, and ironically (and unbeknownst to the casting team), she was also due to play the role of Annie Wilkes in a theatre tour around the UK later that year.
