They all team up in the end to release more than 100 captive bred hellbenders into the Ozarks.

The adventure kicks off outside Seattle where two black bear cubs make a triumphant comeback from near disaster. Then in rural Washington, Dr. Rae tags along as beavers are relocated from a human conflict situation to U.S. Forest Service land where they can live freely. The fun continues in Wyoming where Peter participates in the release of 18 black-footed ferrets to the wild.
