As, fictional as A.D.A.M. may sound, the core concept is real. In December of 2010, NASA's team of Astrobiological Scientists discovered the microbe on the bottom of Mono Lake in California which changed the belief systems scientists around the world on what is the definition of life. It also has them challenging the way NASA now defines extraterrestrial life. NASA has discovered that the water samples from the Moon and from Titan, the rings around Saturn, contain this same microbe.
