Noel Gugliemi explained his frustrations on set about Steven Seagal in a recent interview, "no matter how many times I told him my name, he keeps calling me Hector! He is the Donald Trump of actors!"
The film was nearly cancelled due to legal problems that occurred a week into filming. During a lunch break, Steven Seagal stole a private jet that happened to be on the set to order food from a local Burger King ten minutes down the road. On the way there, he had a diabetic seizure that caused him to crash through the Burger King before crashing into the entrance of a nearby Walmart. This resulted in $900,000 dollars in damages and 10 fatalities, including a man who dressed up as the Burger King to surprise little kids in the play area. While Seagal battled with a tough criminal case in court, the director and crew had a civil case against them for having the jet on set to begin with. In total, Steven Seagal and the movie lost $10 million dollars, which resulted in some scenes not being able to make it to the final product.
Tom Holland was originally meant to play Danny Trejo's character. However, he quit after a week. Holland claimed that Steven Seagal would constantly steal his food and stare at him as he ate it.
