Director Chris Outridge decided to have a fight scene between Faceless and Dwayne because he thought that Dwayne is Faceless' biggest physical threat, and too strong to be taken down by a simple chloroform napkin.
The Newsreporter Scene was a last minute addition to the movie. Originally, the scene was supposed to show Faceless actually carrying Marie to the hospital and leaving her on the bench. However, the actress who plays Marie was not available to film the scene and The Newsreport was created instead.
