The film took 3 years to make.
Originally written as The Darksiders II based on Jonathan Massey's character, then The Darksiders III based on Carl Robinson's character.
But after many production set backs, the director felt it best to combine the scripts to tell one final story and move on to a different project.
The first cut of the film was 30 minutes long.
The first draft of the script was 55 pages long with very ambitious scenes that unfortunately got cut due to budget.
The film is being re - edited with a new color grade, new sound, a new music score, new poster and new credit sequences to mark its tenth anniversary.
