    A Humble Gem

What I loved most about this series is how it portrays a woman in her own world-free from society's expectations about love, childbearing, or the mother-daughter dilemma. She simply exists on her own terms: following a child if she wishes, dancing when she wants, going wherever she pleases. It's a beautiful depiction of a modern woman's inner world-free, content, and curious. In many ways, it also answers the timeless question, "What do women want?" in the most honest way possible. I feel truly lucky to have stumbled upon such a humble gem.

    Lovely series

Very nice, enjoyable, chill, sweet and thought-provoking series. Short but impactful, and also has that feelgood hanging-out vibe. A rare gem, really there should be more like these. Not all are successful and there are few of them in general. It manages to hold my interest and keep me coming, wasn't bored at all. And I was expecting to be served sights and food visuals, but it's so much more than that.

Ep 1 - Nice opening episode, I am sold.

Ep 2 - Uuu she's such a nice teacher and an all around good human. Why did this make me cry at the end dammit? It was going hard for quirky and then I started crying cause she was the only one who gave the young artist what she needed. And why was I bawling my eyes out cause of that realization?

Ep 3 - Meta-Romance. So, so sweet. Almost perfect science fiction romance. Damn I wanted this to be a movie. With a happy end. But I was fine just with these meager crumbs.

Ep 4 - Girl, I feel you. But also you're too good.

Ep 5 - Serendipity. I really liked this lady too. These older ladies are rare.

Ep 6 - Ok now I'm shipping her with the art teacher. I think their quirks are compatible. But girl I resent your fashion choices. That dress is beyond oversize and shapeless.

Ep 7 - Ok I dig. I get it. But how can you pack pastry on the plane and then store it in the fridge? That is beyond me. But also the little girl's story awwww.

Ep 8 - Well that was a nice conclusion. Bawling again. Jin Sol was such a good friend to her and she used to be such a party pooper it's shocking. But also seeing how much she has changed in the meantime and how she reassesses her past, present and future. Where is my Jin Sol?

Perfect meditation on life and death

Brilliant study of taking life as it is one day at a time, with a lead actress for the ages. A perfect supporting cast coupled with unhurried direction makes this the rare media offering that doesn't try to fake it by injecting forced conflict from fear that we won't stay with it. Add to this a story line that showcases continuous good people doing gentle, kind things for and to each other makes this rare offering a balm for this mad human saga...Not to worry, this piece deals with all of the hard stuff - just with much empathy and kindness. The algorithm is telling me I have to write more, so here it is: Definitely a TEN...

    Good Enough

Korean Drama " One Day Off " is an anthology of, well, days off that a school teacher takes. Each episode is dedicated to a theme, like love, art, teacher-student relationship, and so on.

The short length of the drama doesn't allow the viewer to really get to know the main lead, even though she is the main constant of the show, with her performance being the killer point of the show, and often carrying it when things got a bit too slow.

And yet, the whole mood of the drama, in addition to the performances, was what makes this drama worth the watch, even though the story is quite simple and, even at some cases, non existant. Still, this is one of the dramas that is more feels and aesthetics than plot.

So, overall, eight out of ten.
