I didn't know how this collected 100+ cr, story was good new story in aranmanai series and hip hop adhi music was nice, no unwanted songs and love scenes in this movie and no glamour scenes otherwise screenplay and comedy are worst, in the full movie with cringe comedy and predictable scenes even emotion scenes also worst, previous sundar.c movies was good comedy and great entertainment but aranmanai series comedy very worst except part 1 and 2. Aranmanai 1 and 2 are decent one time watchable movies but 3rd and 4th part is worst . I cant believe audience celebrate this movie. Story is different but screenplay making is same like previous aranmanai series.

4th part of the sequel is nothing new. Just irritating storyline and worst screenplay. In the name of comedy it is killing the ears. BGM is too worst and the songs are another annoying thing. The climax song is too irritating and the director lost his touch way back. Another pathetic movie in the name of sequel is somewhat applauded because this is the first movie in five months which gave some breath to Tamil movie goers. But nothing found new. Please stop such stupid movies being produced and made us to watch. Every aspect is worst and the two stars are for just to write this review. Lousy movie.

What else justifies this amount of laziness? When was the last time Sundar C had an original thought he wanted to explore? This is the 4th movie in a series that didn't have a single good movie (which of course is mostly speculation on my part, as I have only watched the first; which was bad, watched bits of the second; which seemed horrible, and wasn't even aware of a third until I saw the fourth in theaters). There's nothing here to enjoy really, as the movie is as predictable and pathetic as you'd come to expect. Is it funny at least? Nope, not even close. Having Yogi Babu in your movie doesn't automatically make it funny, and this is something directors just seem willfully blind to. In any case, save yourself the trouble of watching it, as there's absolutely nothing to enjoy here. The most it could squeeze out of you is a couple of chuckles and that too could just be you laughing at how stupid the movie is.

The film Aranmanai 4 is a horror-drama directed by Sundar C. He acted as the protagonist in this movie. Based on the film's narrative and stylistic choices, I would assign it a rating of "below average." The film's plot is unremarkable, and its approach to storytelling is not particularly engaging.
The film's narrative unfolds as Saravanan, the protagonist, seeks to uncover the circumstances surrounding the mysterious deaths of his sister and brother-in-law. As he continues his investigation, he becomes increasingly aware of the influence of a supernatural entity known as "baak." The plot subsequently shifts focus to Ravi and his ghostly sister, as they attempt to protect his niece from the baak's malevolent influence.
The naturalistic performance of the actors is lacking in many plots. There are numerous scenes that feel contrived and artificial. Thamanna's acting in most of her scenes lacks coherence. Additionally, the comedy scenes with Yogi Babu and VVT Ganesh are not effective.
These factors collectively render the film unrecommended, despite its commercial success. The inclusion of an additional item dance, arguably superfluous, may have contributed to its popularity.

From previous Sundar C movies, I can say that his movies can be quite typical and predictable, but Aranmanai 4 is a whole different case for this.
If you are going to watch this movie, please dont go into the cinema with the expectations that I will be the same as the previous installments in the Aranmanai Saga because this movie stands on the top by itself as the best in the series.
Positives:
Negatives:
Overall, I believe that Aranmanai 4 is a great horror family entertainer and its also a big step up for Sundar C which is great to see. This movie should be watched in the cinemas while its still running before it goes off the big screens. Again I repeat, dont go in thinking this movie is going to be a typical Sundar C Aranmanai movie...because it really isn't, hopefully those who watch it will understand what I mean.

Positives:
- Great story concept compared to the previous installments (finally a change of pace)
- Tamanna's performance is top notch and gives that amazing emotional connection to the viewers
- Jump scares in the movie are timed perfectly
- There is absolutely no 'Glamour Scenes (sex appeal from female characters)' in the movie as compared to the previous installments. There is one scene where it pops up but its in the final song during the credits which is fine
- Hiphop Tamizha's music is amazing and can be said carried the flow of the movie
- Cinematography is very clean, cinematic and fits the genre
- Good character developments
- The VFX is decent and works...sometimes
Negatives:
- The comedic scenes for the movie can be the downside to the movie, this is because it is inconsistent but sometimes the jokes do land and feels good.
- The overall pacing of the story is draggy, there is a lot of filler in the first half of the movie that is unnecessary
- There is also this weird flow of the story where at certain points its slow but then a second later everything rushes at you and then goes back to being slow.
- The fight scenes in this movie can be considered to be too exaggerated at points
- Editing at a few parts of the movie is a bit sloppy but overall not too bad

The fourth installment to this surprisingly hit franchise gets Tamannaah on board to be Sundar C's new sister turned ghost. This time around it's Baak, a shapeshifter aiming to become Immortal and it's prey are 3 souls. Lawyer Saravanan is an honest guy, living with his aunt while missing his estranged sister Selvi. He is informed of Selvi and her husband's death, with her elder daughter fallen into coma. He arrives at the village to look after the kids and figures out that his sister and her husband's deaths were murder and the comatose daughter is one of the target of Baak. How does he save the girl and what help he gets on the way to defeat the Baak, forms rest of the story.
The positive is obviously the introducing of the shapeshifting demon and thankfully the heroines aren't used as just glam-dolls though Raashi Khanna as Dr. Maya doesn't get much to do. With Tamannaah as Selvi holding the film together in the key scenes, rest of the film is like the other 3 films in the franchise and the distasteful outdated comedy, pulls the film down big time. None of the comedy scenes were remotely funny and it didn't surprise at the bunch of talented comedy actors getting typecasted again. The poor vfx doesn't help either. The cameos in the climax had the correct placement. With the scenes getting lifted off especially from Marvel's recent two films, this no logic only magic driven franchise, may work with it's fanbase but for the rest, it's just another Aranmanai film with a new ghost.

Aranmanai 4 delivers impressive visual thrills alongside a haunting atmosphere. The film's special effects are top-notch, and the soundtrack expertly amplifies moments of suspense. The cinematography adds another layer of depth, creating an immersive experience. Tamannaah shines in her lead role, offering a captivating performance.
The film's core supernatural plot proves genuinely exciting. However, while it succeeds in cultivating chills, it stumbles on the humor. The comedy segments feel forced and outdated, failing to live up to the rest of the film's technical elements and strong acting.
Overall, Aranmanai 4 offers a worthwhile watch for fans of the horror-comedy genre who prioritize visual appeal and a spooky ambiance. Just be prepared for some jokes that fall a bit flat.

Within a month of its release, the movie landed on OTT after generating some impressive box office numbers, which is beyond my understanding.
The film presents a highly outdated plotline involving a ghost that accidentally gets released. It wants to regains its power and needs to kill three people, all from the same village, including a young girl. The ghost attempts to kill the girl but faces resistance from her determined mother, and after her death, her uncle steps in to protect her.
The story is outdated and nonsensical. It is painfully lengthy. The ghost sequences are torturous, resembling a fancy dress show. The graphics and VFX work are amateurish at best. The comedy sequences feel forced, and the jokes seem like they were written by kindergarten students.
This movie was entirely carried by Sundar C, who served as the lead actor, director, writer, and screenplay writer. A man with zero talent in all these departments proves it by making this film. He should just stop here with this one torture.
One thing that does work is Tamannaah Bhatia, who plays the mother. She has acted brilliantly, and her character is well-written, providing her with a meatier role. She evokes emotion in viewers. Raashii Khanna is merely decorative in the movie. Then comes a series of actors known for their comedy - Kovai Sarala, Yogi Babu, Rajendran, to name a few - but here, they test your patience and make you reach for a Saridon.
The movie also features a popular item number with Tamannaah and Raashi during the end credits, which is above average. Funnily, Hotstar has blurred Tamannaah's body in many places in the song, and I can't understand why OTT platforms have started censoring in such a ridiculous manner.
Don't be misled by its box office success. Just don't watch it. #pranureviews #Aranmanai4 #Aranmanai4Review.

Worst movie, very long and sluggish story.
Unnecessary comedy without comedy sense.
Unwanted characters.
The worst movie ever! Makes no sense, for kids under 5 yrs it might be worth it. Not at all scary or funny! Definitely not recommended. WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!
No specific sensible story. Just 'some' entertainment. The total disappointment was the last song after the movie. Tamanah and Rashi were exposing their skin. It only reflects on Sunder C exploiting women. Sadly Indian culture is not held close to hearts of Indian themselves As usual funny horror movie, getting worse and worse, sunder c no reaction all all, when heard sister committed suicide. Don't waste money and time. Better to watch cartoon movies then this.

As usual same story. Sundar C always use the same story and substitute the actors in his Aranmanai Franchise. 99% percent of the comedy scenes won't make you laugh."Tamannah saving her children" scene is the only good scene in the movie. I loved the work of music director in this film."Baak" concept is good. I laughed in the theater for the sentiment scenes and fight scenes. Graphics is average. Snapchat filter scene is good. Climax song and dance is good. If you want to save your money, don't go to theatre for this movie. Wait for a month and watch it on OTT. If you want to save time, don't watch the movie.

So, "Aranmanai 4" is back, and it's like that friend who always has a new story but never quite nails the delivery. The plot throws a bone with something intriguing, but it doesn't really flesh it out, and we're left with the same old average screenplay and narration vibe from the trilogy's earlier escapades.
The comedy's a mixed bag. Some bits will have you cackling, while others might just have you staring blankly. And those jump scares? Yeah, they're more miss than hit.
On the bright side, the story does step it up a notch from the third installment, and the laughs are better than what we got in the second-so, progress? The twists are a bit of a see-saw too-some you won't see coming, others you'll spot from a mile away.
Props to Thamanna, Kovai Sarala and Rashi Khanna, though-they brought their A-game. The VFX? Not top-tier but charming in their own quirky way-might even be a hit with the kiddos.
The production values hold up pretty decently. Oh, and about that sizzling promotional song with Tamanna and Rashi that got you all hyped? Yeah, they skipped that part in the actual movie. Bummer, right?
Bottom line-if you're hunting for a blockbuster-level thrill, this might not be your ticket. But hey, if you're just looking to kill some time and need a few laughs, "Aranmanai 4" could be your casual hangout flick.

Formulaic typical horror movie - elevated largely by some key performances !
Is this movie filled with cliches around horror genre in Indian movies ? Absolutely, all the below characters are there : -
But that being said, if you go in with the correct expectations ( as I did ) - the movie is pretty entertaining and performances by the kids and Tamanna were rather good. The song is catchy and does pull certain strings in your heart.

- Parental / Sibling Love (overdone a bit here - but some fine performance made it digestible)
- Overuse of theme / songs
- Jump scares
- Divine interventions
- Vivid colors (west usually go for dark and grey, while India largely goes for vivid colors and pujas / rituals etc.)
- Parallel comedy track which adds nothing to overall story

Given that Aranmanai 3 ended up making money despite the negative reviews, it is no wonder that Sundar C has once again returned to this franchise to prop up his box office cred after the misstep that was Coffee With Kadhal. But you have to give credit to the director for having developed a formula that is essentially critic-proof. All that a reviewer has to do is take a leaf out of the director's playbook, rehash observations from their reviews of the previous films, and it would perfectly pass off as a review of this latest instalment. And so, here we go !
Aranmanai 4 does what it sets out to do - faithfully tread the formula set by the first film (a reworking of the plot of Aayiram Jenmangal), content to be coasting along with a 'people will see this movie no matter what' attitude. It has the failsafe must-haves - good-looking A-list stars who can draw the youth (here, it is Tamannaah, who gets to dial up the melodrama to an extent she's never done before, and Raashi Khanna, in a role that appears throughout the film while hardly making any impact), scares that thrill kids without disturbing them (they can take a peek at the scenes through their fingers without worrying about having nightmares), a spiritual element that might appeal to the women (featuring a cameo by a yesteryear actress in the climactic song; here, we have two!), and comedy that works for the entire family (though the humour quotient keeps going down with each film; Yogi Babu and co are quite unfunny here).
And the tropes keep coming - palatial mansion, formless smoke figures, brutal murders, children who can sense/see the ghost, bumbling comedians who get thrashed by the ghost, godmen spouting mystic mumbo jumbo, tragic flashback, tacky visual effects, and, of course, Sundar C in a part-detective part-mass movie hero avatar, taking on both henchmen and ghost with the same unfazed expression.
This time, the plot or the clothesline on which the director hangs these tropes, involves a mother trying to protect her kids from the spirit realm after having been tragically killed by a demonic entity. This is baak, a creature from Assamese folklore that can take the shape of the person it kills (though it is still treated in a way that's no different from the way the ghosts in the previous films were). In another film, the fact that the wife dies trying to protect her kids from the baak, which has taken the form of her husband, could be read as a commentary on domestic abuse, but subtext is the last thing this film could be bothered about.
The one noticeable difference is the slightly different visual aesthetic in the first half (borrowed from the Kannada film Vikrant Rona); the glossy, ad film-like forest we see here at once feels unreal and unsettling. But the director soon returns to the chaotic, hyper-saturated look of the second and third films and the rapid cuts.
On the whole, Aranmanai 4 does what it intends to do - overwhelming us with kitsch and underwhelming us with its lack of imagination and originality, in utterly predictable, instantly forgettable and mildly entertaining fashion.

Usually Sundar C movies having more glamour scenes than horror. This 4th part is completely different .Its having more horror scenes than unnecessary scenes.
VFX is top notch and BGM is powerful and creates horrifying moments in theatres.tamannah excel in her performance. Over all the movie is complete summer entertainment for both kids and families. 2024 First sleeper hit TAMIL movie :)
Genuine Review Star : 3/5 Positive: Tamanna performance

Aranmanai 4 is probably the best one in its series. Steered by Tamannah, her act is commendable. A true performer whose variety was seen in Dharma durai, November story and more, always slipped in commercial movies. She's surely a crowd puller and in the line to be the South Superstar, so far achieved by Nayanthara and Anushka Shetty.
The movie's comedy is good but feels like a template, still works with Kovai Sarala and others pulling them. Sundar C is as usual the hero of the day but honestly Tamannah eats everyone in the film. Thriller works good more than comedy! First and second half is fast paced with less lags.
Rashi is okay too, but the villain, Garuda from KGF elevates few scenes.
But the ultimate one was the climax, oh my god - the goosebumps I can still feel and think about it💥💥💥

It was simply superb....
artists have executed a preminous job as well as the creators and the and literally witness that they have been greatly evolved in technical aspects....along with great music literally Sundar C has delivered a Masterpiece despite of having kinda regrettable result for his previous movie in the franchise.
As i said before acting wise everyone performance was very convincing and enjoyable Comedy scenes worked kinda fine eventhough it was less and even director has reduced a lot of glamour touches and unwanted scenes which he had already imbulged in his previous movies...... So thats all from me and my personal review will be 9/10.
