This movie delivered the very best of indie horror psychological mystery. Driving home we were so excited talking about the layers and the meanings and there was so much there we will have to see it again to truly get all the nuances and hidden meanings. It was laid out in a very simple way so there's no confusion but it's so interesting. I think that is the one of the films greatest achievements. It was exciting to watch, it was fun and it was scary and just clever... you just don't see a lot of movies like this anymore. It's so hard to deliver multi-layered pschyological deep story telling and that's what Kallio did here. It had a lot of humor too. The actors did a great job, some were completely unknown to me, and my favorite is the blue eyed white bearded priest. He gave a great performance. So for me this was a movie that was fun, exciting, thought provoking mysterious with a big creepy factor.... The director wore several hats and they all looked good on him, lol. The poster for the movie is kind of campy and so it didn't set me up for how much more than that Inner Demons. I loved the movie. I saw it at First Glance Film Festival.

A pretty solid horror/thriller from filmmaker Michael Kallio that punches well above its weight class. At a paltry price-tag of $9,000, you might expect this micro(scopic) budget flick to be an amateurish mess. My own expectations were low going in, but boy was I pleasantly surprised to be surprised, and shocked and horrified and downright scared. Kallio uses every cent of that tiny budget in the way that only a seasoned director could. Most notably in the casting! The leads are all solid pros who deliver all the feels you want from your scary movies with some to spare.
I saw this at the premiere here in LA and, as of today, still don't know where it will pop up in the streamverse, but keep and eye out for it.

I was able to score tickets to the premiere in North Hollywood in October and I was so glad I did. The movie was so well written. It is scary without all the gratuitous gore that most films put in these days. It actually relied on good writing, directing and acting. The horror genre has been done so much that it's hard to have a fresh idea and this film does it. Michael Kallio has an interesting mind and the passion to go with it. Thank God he has a place to share it with us. Jessica Moore is a revelation and is destined to be a star.
Do yourself a favor and check it out. You will not be disappointed.

I saw this at its premiere in North Hollywood, seeing a film with its cast and crew can certainly put a finger on the scale, but this film really was a ton of fun. Especially all the scenes in the hospital, I hate going to the hospital as it is, even to visit - but after this film - going to the hospital has been made all the more frightening. Rough around its edges in that way that makes you uneasy the entire time. It feels like these crazy creepy events might have actually have happened...it's got a BLAIR WITCH meets JACOB'S LADDER vibe. The director spoke at the screening and he seemed almost like a horror director out of the 1970's, completely in love with the genre and clearly out to make a movie that delivers what a horror fan is looking for. It seems there aren't a lot of solid horror films coming out this year, so I'm feeling like I just had a sneak peak at the big horror film break through of 2023. Happy Halloween!
