Almost gave up good movies on Netflix, but then this pearl showed up , this is a very good horror movie , its walk the walk and talk the talk , a horror all inclusive , close to perfect
The story is very good, its scary actually, make you crawl up in the corner with the shamepillow infront of your face, not many movies can do that , this is asian quality on its edge, what I like most in this movie is the nonstop happenings, its start to be creepy pretty fast and then it just keep going with no breaks , you sit like a burning candle from first minute to the last
Acting is ok , effects aswell , but little bit the week points in this movie and it is little bit to long ,,, but this is anyway a very good horror movie.

This is such a creepy film.
And to think it's actually based on true events is wild.
The film is constructed in three parts; woven together to tell a single story; from the perspectives of three different characters.
The first third of the film is told from the perspective of Ning, the mother of Ing, and wife of Kwin.
In this section, we watch them trade their family home for a condo, as they rent out their house to, people they believe are doctors.
Originally, this is Ning's idea...but, for some mysterious reason, Kwin goes along with it.
Though, Ning quickly starts to realize that something nefarious is afoot.
That it has something to do with a cult; her daughter; and that Kwin very well might be involved in it.
An intermediary section then flashes back to how they met.
Followed by a rehashing of events, from the perspective of Kwin.
Through which the mystery is slowly unraveled.
As we learn what Kwin has been up to...and what the cult's plans for young Ing really are.
The intrigue of the mystery- and fact that the whole thing is based on actual events- really manages to keep you hooked throughout.
Before things shift to the perspective of "Mother" Ratree...the matriarchal leader of the cult at work here.
Which is when all the twists and turns start to kick in...and things start to get weird.
As the film gets more intense, as the pace quickens, and things veer in a direction you never would have guessed.
It's actually a pretty bad ass little film...that totally needs a true crime documentary to compliment (as a special feature, or something).
Because I can't help but want to learn more about what sort of insanity this was actually based upon.
7 out of 10.

Home for Rent is a movie that comes out as fresh from the Asian cinema, one that is saturated with ghost stories. Don't get me wrong, this isn't far off either, but it does manage to provide a good plot, non linear execution and plenty of tension and mystery to it.
It was a nice surprise, I do declare myself a fan of this genre, the Asian market has its strong points, but lately nothing scary or convincing came out. This one isn't scary either but I do think it's intelligent, respects its viewer and is made with passion instead of a cash grab project.
Definitely recommended, it takes its time to build a proper story, to include the viewer, to make him question what's happening on the screen and also offers a good ending. So head to toes, a lovely experience here.
Cheers!

A film inspired by scary true events. A happy little family must be disturbed by the strangeness and terror of a sect that rents their house. The terror continues to befall their little daughter who will become a new host for the desired spirit.
Thai films do provide an interesting, unique and creative treat. Home for Rent is one of the proofs of films that provide a new experience in watching horror films. Home for Rent does not just provide the story of a secret sect that is disguised in it, but in terms of stories that have an interesting plot in it. This film has a runtime of 2 hours which may only feel the excitement of this film after an hour after. How not, at the beginning of this film the intensity of the film is quite slow in introducing the characters and conflicts in it. Only an hour later, the film experienced an improvement in the story and became the beginning of the climax of this film. Home for Rent presents a plot twist in it with a backward plot to see it from a different perspective. Not long after, a plot twist occurs again in it with a new angle. Which then connects into a clear unity. Even at the end of the film and the climax of the film still presents an unexpected plot. The climactic scene gives a different ending. Shocking, moving, unexpected and in the end becomes an ending that gives a sense of sincerity in it.
Home for Rent provides an interesting and unique mystical horror treat. Appearing different from the story in general, Home for Rent is not only centered on how the sect works, but on a sad drama. Nothing but a sad drama wrapped in a mystical horror story. Home for Rent has a good lineup of actors. They are able to provide stories that make us curious and feel suspenseful. A story plot that plays nicely. The continuous plot twist makes us continue to be surprised and not expect. Overall, the movie is good.

Although the movie tries too hard on the Scare-O-Meter by overly playing spooky music at every scene and typical jump scares, the story, suspense and build-up itself is good and made up for that unnecesity.
Synopsis: Ning, Kwin, and their daughter, Ing, shifted to the condo. Ning started to notice a shift in her husband's behavior. He was a little too attached to a red book that he carried along with him wherever he went. When Ning asked him about it, he stated that it was the factory manual. He had also recently had a symbol tattooed on his chest; he blamed it on a game of dare that he indulged in with his colleagues. Ning very well knew that Kwing was lying, but she couldn't understand the reason behind it. When she went back to the house to collect some items, she was a little surprised by Dr. Nuch's behavior. Dr. Nuch was clearly annoyed by Ning's sudden visit and wanted her to leave the house immediately.
