More Than Bullets, A Story About Loyalty and Loss
Dark Wolf delivers a powerful and emotional prequel that goes far beyond a typical military action series.
The story focuses on Ben Edwards (Taylor Kitsch), a soldier torn between loyalty and morality. From start to finish, you can feel the weight of his guilt, trauma, and inner conflict beneath that calm surface.
The cinematography is stunning - dark, grounded, and full of atmosphere. The soundtrack is beautifully haunting, perfectly matching the tone of the story. The action scenes are impactful not because of the explosions, but because of the emotional scars they leave behind.
The only downside lies in the slow pacing (especially episodes 1-3) and the heavy military/political dialogue, which can be tough to follow at times. But once the story hits episode 5 onward, everything intensifies - emotionally, visually, and narratively.
Overall, Dark Wolf doesn't just expand The Terminal List universe - it deepens it. It's raw, tragic, and profoundly human.

Can't wait for The Terminal List sequel
Dark Wolf takes the Terminal List universe to a darker, more psychological place - and it absolutely delivers. Centered on Ben Edwards (Taylor Kitsch), the conflicted Navy SEAL who becomes a CIA operative, this prequel dives into the moral decay and personal sacrifices that define his path long before James Reece's story begins.
Taylor Kitsch gives one of his best performances yet - restrained, haunted, and magnetic. Tom Hopper's Raife Hastings adds grit and humanity, grounding the story in loyalty and brotherhood. The action is tense and authentic, shot with striking realism and clarity, while the writing adds emotional depth rarely seen in military thrillers.
Yes, the core ingredients - covert ops, double agents, black ops moral grayness - are familiar. But Dark Wolf executes them with such precision and confidence that it feels brand-new. The cinematography, pacing, and tone are all top-tier, pushing the franchise to new creative heights.
The Terminal List: Dark Wolf is smart, savage, and emotionally resonant - a gripping prequel that proves this world still has a lot of fight left in it.
Verdict: Brutal, beautiful, and brilliantly acted. Dark Wolf is Prime Video's best shot yet, which brings the question - how good the sequel of the original series is going to be?

Terrific
The Terminal List: Dark Wolf is finally here and it did not disappoint. I absolutely loved The Terminal List starring Chris Pratt so I've been looking forward to this ever since they announced this spinoff a few years ago. This spinoff is a prequel story about Ben Edwards (Taylor Kitsch), who was in the first one but takes center stage here. I've been a fan of Kitsch ever since he starred in the amazing Friday Night Lights. He's awesome here too. Chris Pratt is also back as James Reece and even though he's just a supporting character in this series he's as good as always. It also stars a bunch of other great actors like Tom Hopper, Luke Hemsworth, Jai Courtney, Constance Wu, Patrick Schwarzenegger, Michael Ealy and plenty of others you will recognize. There is plenty of action and drama to keep you entertained throughout each episode. The only bad thing I can say is they didn't release all the episodes at once and we have to wait a week between episodes. It's much better as a binge watch.
Solid action, great attention to detail
So far, I'm really enjoying this series. I loved the Terminal list with Chris Pratt and it's hard to say anything could top that. While some reviews claim Dark Wolf does so, I'm pretty sure they're just forgetting how good that series is. Taylor Kitsch is doing a great job but he's a little weak compared to Pratt and this series wants to make him oh so human that we don't see him in action as much as reacting and contemplating. Still, it's a great series in it's own right.
What I most appreciate about it is the solid 'This is US military and we're not sorry sensation'; and with equal billing is the fantastic attention to detail. We've all seen a dozen shows with modern technology displayed through brilliant hackers but here it shows in realistic terms how tracking, communications, and psyops are done.
All of the characters are believable and likeable and we feel the connection they have to each other despite only brief background dissertations. There's very little frustration with the characters, as in other shows - the tension is all in the action.
The only downside is Prime keeps advertising the anti-maga Springsteen film who no patriot has thought twice about since he endorsed Killary.
Looking forward to wherever this series takes me. Solid 8 stars.
