Fox has given an early, 22-episode Season 2 renewal to breakout freshman medical drama Doc, starring Molly Parker.
This is a rare full-season order of that size in the new broadcast era where seasons often consist of 13-18 episodes. The last Fox drama to produce 22 episodes was the network’s previous medical show, The Resident, which delivered 23 during the 2021-22 season.
What makes Doc‘s pickup size even more unusual is that it is given to a series that launched in midseason. As they only air for a couple of months, these freshmen have smaller orders, between eight and 13 episodes. (Doc‘s was 10.) That is not considered fully adequate for a show to prove itself, so midseason newbies typically receive a 13-episode Season 2 renewal that could be extended with additional episodes if the series returns strong in the fall. Doc joins very few midseason entries that have earned straight full-season Season 2 pickups,...

The 2025-26 CBS season is looking so packed, it's no wonder some shows are worried about renewals!
We're closing in on spring, which means the time of year TV networks start prepping for the fall season. As always, there's a worry about shows "on the bubble" while others are safer.
CBS just did a mass renewal, so we know the NCIS shows are okay, along with Fire Country, Elsbeth, and several comedies. However, there are still several shows whose fates are up in the air as Deadline reports.
Tops among them are The Equalizer, FBI: International, FBI: Most Wanted and Swat. There's also the freshman drama Watson, not to mention the various reality TV shows. Some face bigger challenges than others besides just ratings.
The Equalizer, for instance, comes from an outside studio, Universal, meaning Paramount doesn't own it. They have to license it, which adds to costs along with...

Hulu + Live TV is the full package, but Sling TV lets you build your own package. Contrast and compare with our point-by-point review.
Whether you’re a new cord-cutter wanting to escape cable TV or a longtime live TV streamer thinking about jumping to another service, two of the best choices out there are Hulu + Live TV and Sling TV. The latter is often The Streamable’s pick for viewers who are looking to keep their streaming spending more reasonable, while Hulu + Live TV is arguably the best deal in streaming.
Hulu + Live TV offers over 100 channels and includes the Disney Bundle of Hulu, Disney+, and ESPN+ at no extra cost, making for a maximalist streaming experience. Sling TV is a slimmer package with a base of 30 to 50 channels and a boatload of available add-on packages to customize the service to your liking.

Alyssa Milano is cheekily referencing her Little Mermaid history in the Little Italy-set episode of Elsbeth, and TV Insider is debuting an exclusive first look at the Charmed star in the episode along with photos of Carrie Preston with Michael Emerson, Ben Levi Ross, and more. Milano is playing a princess — a former mafia princess, that is — in Season 2 Episode 14, titled “Scenes From an Italian Restaurant,” airing Thursday, March 6. She guest stars as the fiery Pupetta DeMarco, who runs a family restaurant. Milano’s face served as the inspiration for Ariel’s in Disney’s The Little Mermaid. In the photo below, she’s curiously eyeing a fork (aka dinglehopper). Here’s the official logline for the episode: “When Elsbeth takes a tour of famous New York crime scenes she is left with nagging questions about a legendary Mafia slaying in Little Italy, and about the owner of the family restaurant where it happened,...

There’s never a dull moment when it comes to midseason.
We TV Fanatics wait with bated breath about the fate of our beloved shows.
One show that continually beats the odds is S.W.A.T.
(Michael Yarish/CBS)
The Shemar Moore-fronted drama already has the distinction of being canceled and uncanceled twice.
Sadly, the good news for the long-running drama could end soon because the numbers don’t lie:
(Bill Inoshita/Sony Pictures Television/CBS)
S.W.A.T. is not in as good shape as it was a year ago, and as we’ll say until we’re blue in the face, aging shows come in at a much higher price tag.
Season-to-date, S.W.A.T. Season 8 is averaging slightly over 4 million viewers and a 0.28 rating in the 18-49 demographic.

Swat has had one of the most fascinating histories of any procedural drama in recent memory. The show has repeatedly been canceled and brought back by CBS, which has led to whiplash for the fans. There's bad news and good news surrounding the show at the moment.
The bad news is that CBS opted not to renew Swat early. The good news is that fans have been here before, and if any show has proven to be resilient, its this one. The reason this decision to avoid early renewal is so interesting is because the network extended the contracts for several other shows.
CBS renewed all three NCIS shows, Tracker, Elsbeth and Fire Country. These were unsurprising calls, given the titles ranged from proven hitmakers to buzzy new shows that are still building up fanbases. Swat was exempt, however, which invariably begs the question: will the network finally pull the plug?...

CBS announced Georgie and Mandy's First Marriage has been renewed for season 2 for the 2025-2026 TV season! This update means we'll get more of the Cooper/McCallister dynamics we all came to love from the comedy.
Season 1 has been met with much fanfare, as the gears shifted the focus off Sheldon Cooper and onto his older brother, Georgie, as he quickly becomes a married man with a family. The running joke is the age gap between him and Mandy, but if you truly analyze the narrative, it's not so much of a difference as Georgie's growing maturity has been prominent in each episode.
According to a press release from CBS, viewership reached 12.9% across multiple platforms, including Paramount+. The number is impressive for a broadcast show, and the first season of Georgie and Mandy is only halfway finished.

CBS has made a big decision on Elsbeth. Will the quirky investigator be back solving crimes for season 3?
Elsbeth was one of the bigger TV surprises of 2024. On paper it sounded like a weird idea: Carrie Preston reprising her Emmy-winning role from The Good Wife and The Good Fight as eccentric attorney Elsbeth Tascioni. Rather than have it be a legal dramedy, the series is instead a crime procedural of Elsbeth working with the NYPD to solve murders.
While ordered in May 2023, the series was put off due to the Hollywood strikes of that year. It premiered (appropriately) on Leap Day 2024 and was a quick success. The series did connect with viewers, mostly thanks to Preston’s delightful performance. It earned a second season renewal which premiered in fall 2024.

Is it weird to find Christian’s death one of Found‘s most upsetting twists?
Christian was a wild card character, but he seemed well-intentioned, and learning of his death by suicide during Found Season 2 Episode 13 caught me off guard.
Of course, it wasn’t even the biggest revelation of the hour.
( Matt Miller/NBC) Penance is the Name of the Game During Found Season 2 Episode 13
The hour frequently references penance, and it follows Found Season 2 Episode 12, in which Gabi feels Sir has robbed her of the chance to exercise it.
However, forever the M&a faithful, Dhan doesn’t just say, “Turn your pain into purpose,” he embodies it. It’s not a mantra for him so much as a lifestyle and code he lives by, so fittingly, he’s the one to remind Gabi that M&a is their penance.

The award for dumbest murderer on Elsbeth goes to Lawrence “Larry” Grey. At least Matthew Broderick is somehow still charming, even as a killer.
Also, is the whole college admissions scam still a thing? And who in their right mind would start when the student is a toddler?
After so many big-name convictions, I would think people wouldn’t still be playing with fire. Then again, I’ve never been rich and powerful.
(Michael Parmelee/CBS)
As far as Elsbeth episodes, this one hit all the right marks with a bit of drama, a fistful of funny, and a pinch of intrigue right there at the end.
For a show about murder, it sure does manage to deliver a lot of good news and keep things surprisingly upbeat.
Granted, the killers of Elsbeth are not exactly genius masterminds. Still, Larry takes the cake with more rookie mistakes than anyone with...

That was by far the most intense roller coaster of emotions Matlock has ever put audiences through. It was amazing in every possible way.
Awards season may be over, but someone over at the Primetime Emmys better watch this episode and take note. I’m still shaking from those last few seconds.
Before we get to how Matlock is defining peak broadcast TV, we have to give it up to Kathy Bates and the entire cast. The chemistry in “This is That Moment” was unreal.
(Michael Yarish/CBS)
Every interaction, whether funny or dramatic, was dripping with the kind of skill that comes from a cast of actors who know how to build on each other’s talents to elevate the writing.
If you’re like this TV Fanatic, all you want to talk about is that last moment with Matty and Edwin. Emphasis on “last moment” because there is no going back after that.

No need to worry. Elsbeth is staying on the case for 2025-26. The series has been renewed for a third season by CBS. The second season of 20 episodes has nine episodes left to air.
A police-procedural comedy-drama series, the Elsbeth TV show is a spin-off of The Good Wife legal and political drama. The series stars Carrie Preston, Wendell Pierce, and Carra Patterson. Guests for season two include Nathan Lane, Robert Riggle, Brittany O'Grady, Vanessa Bayer, Dan Bucatinsky, and Gloria Reuben. The story revolves around Elsbeth Tascioni (Preston), an astute but unconventional attorney. After leaving her successful legal career in Chicago to tackle a new investigative role in New York City, Elsbeth uses her very unique point of view and personality to make astute observations and corner brilliant criminals alongside the NYPD. She works under Captain C.W.

It seems that the cracks in Georgie and Mandy’s foundation aren’t so big after all.
Audrey and Jim, on the other hand, usually make their marriage work, but Audrey’s ex may be more of a sore point than it seems.
Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage Season 1 Episode 11 featured Mandy talking some sense into Georgie while Audrey deliberately needled Jim about Freddy. What was that about?
(Troy Harvey / 2024 Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc.) Georgie and Jim’s Conflict Showed Both The Strength and The Weakness In Georgie and Mandy’s Marriage
Mandy had the sense to present a united front with Georgie in front of her parents.
For the most part, around the McAllister family dinner table, Mandy took the position that Georgie and Jim were both stubborn and ridiculous, while in private, she worked on convincing Georgie to be the one to blink first.

The Traitors succeeded in their mission to take out a “silent assassin,” but the entire season is crumbling.
What was once brimming with possibilities is now just a hollow shell with few interesting storylines, vanquishing my desire to watch anymore.
I’ll be honest: The Traitors is one of my favorite shows, so it’s devastating to see it falling apart before my very eyes.
(Euan Cherry/Peacock)
The Traitors Season 3 Episode 9 started compelling enough with the stalemate between Danielle and Carolyn.
They’re reality TV titans, so there was no way one of them would back down. It’s not in their DNA, and that’s pretty admirable.
(Peacock/Screenshot)
However, Alan’s choice of Traitors is the issue with the episode — and the season as a whole.
The Traitors are supposed to be smart and work together to murder and banish the Faithful to get to the end...

NCIS: Origins just got a renewal from CBS.
The new drama has succeeded on Monday nights, earning it an early renewal from the network.
This is huge news for the NCISverse, and it speaks to the writing that a prequel show could find success.
NCIS: Origins follows a young Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Austin Stowell) in 1991.
The stories from this new show take place years before the NCIS series premiere aired in 2003.
Mark Harmon narrates the new show (Gibbs on NCIS), which is set in the fledgling NCIS Camp Pendleton. The team is led by NCIS legend Mike Franks (Kyle Schmid). We already know Gibbs and Franks have become great friends.
The new show also gives the writers excuses to tell fresh stories about Gibbs while interweaving what we already know about his past.

It’s a great news day for a lot of CBS shows. Nine have landed new seasons, with some surprising decisions from CBS.
Yes, nine shows have been renewed for the 2025–2026 TV season. Some of these renewals are not a surprise at all. They are strong shows that have some great ratings. However, there are some surprises in shows that are missing from the list, leaving us wonderings what’s going on.
It’s not unusual for CBS to renew shows in bulk. The majority on this list are scripted shows, with one show landing a two-season renewal order.
Ghosts has two more seasons (at least!)
In some exciting news, the CBS comedy Ghosts has landed a two-season renewal. Yes, we are getting season 5 in the 2025–2026 season and then we will get season 6 the season after. This will actually match when the FBI multi-season renewal comes to an end!

CBS today delivered great news for the fans of some of its biggest scripted series, handing early renewals to all NCIS dramas: flagship NCIS, NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Sydney; as well as Tracker, Fire Country and Elsbeth, alongside comedies Ghosts, which got a two-season pickup, and Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage. They join previously renewed freshman drama Matlock and the mothership FBI, which has two more seasons on its 3-year deal.
As usual, the news set alarm bells for fans of the series that didn’t make the early renewal list, dramas FBI: Most Wanted, FBI: International, The Equalizer and yes, the twice-canceled S.W.A.T., as well as veteran comedy The Neighborhood and freshman sitcom Poppa’s House. (It’s too early for new drama Watson which just premiered.)
If history — and simple math — is any indication, it is certain that several of the series that were not picked up today won’t be back next season.

CBS is locking in a large portion of its primetime slate for the 2025-26 season — and, in one case, 2026-27 as well.

CBS has handed a two-season renewal to Ghosts, now in its fourth season, taking the single-camera comedy through the 2026-27 season. Additionally, the network has given a Season 2 renewal to breakout freshman multi-camera comedy Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage for 2025-26.
The early vote of confidence for the two shows is not surprising as they are CBS’ highest rated comedy series. They have been picked up today along with other CBS strong performers on the drama side, Tracker, Fire Country, Elsbeth, NCIS, NCIS: Origins and NCIS: Sydney as well as the recently launched Hollywood Squares reboot.
Of the bunch, the Young Sheldon spinoff Georgie & Mandy’s First Marriage is second only to Tracker in Live+35 Days multi-platform viewership (12.9 million), with Ghosts close behind at 11 million, up 9% from last season.

When one 9-1-1 entry closes, another opens.
ABC confirmed Thursday that the franchise would head to Music City with 9-1-1: Nashville.
The series will premiere at some point in the 2025-26 season.
(Kevin Estrada/Fox)
Plot details are under wraps for now, but if the set-up is the same as the other two entries, it will feature a group of first responders putting their lives on the line for the greater good.
The format works very well, as evidenced by 9-1-1 and 9-1-1: Lone Star.
(Disney/Ray Mickshaw)
9-1-1 started its life on Fox but moved to ABC last year after the former felt the show had become too expensive to keep alive.
The drama starring Angela Bassett and Peter Krause made a splash on ABC and swiftly earned a renewal for Season 8.

NBC is staying in business with Reba McEntire.
On Thursday, the network renewed Happy’s Place, the veteran TV star’s latest comedy.
The pickup wasn’t surprising, considering Happy’s Place Season 1 has found a devoted audience on Fridays.
In fact, NBC has revealed that it has improved the Friday at 8 p.m. timeslot by 54% in total viewers.
These numbers represent an encouraging sign for the future, as the broadcast networks are struggling to remain competitive.
(Casey Durkin/NBC)
The big question will be whether it remains on the night next season or if the show’s strong digital footprint compels the network to move it to a night with more people watching TV.
It may well be a show that could benefit from that, but we should have more clarity in the next few months when NBC presents its schedule to advertisers.

Teonna Rainwater’s journey in 1923 is one of the most harrowing and emotional arcs on television today, and Aminah Nieves understands the weight of telling her story.
TV Fanatic had the opportunity to speak with her during a recent press day.
As 1923 returns for its highly anticipated second season, Nieves sat down to reflect on Teonna’s resilience, the heartbreaking real-life loss of Cole Brings Plenty, and what’s next for her character.
(James Minchin III/Paramount+) A Warrior’s Spirit
Teonna Rainwater has embodied an unbreakable spirit from the moment she was introduced. But where does that fight come from? According to Nieves, it’s simply who she is.
“I think it’s kind of instinctual. It’s ancestral,” she explained. “We are literal beings of this land. We share a DNA with this land, and in order to protect it, we must protect one another.”

Yes, we have a new character on FBI: International.
At this point, the Fly Team’s office sees more action than an actual airport. Arrivals and departures have become the norm, making it hard to keep everyone’s names straight after a while.
Oh, and don’t get too attached to anyone; they’ll disappear in the blink of an eye.
(Nelly Kiss/CBS)
I’m still trying to adjust to Wes Mitchell.
He is basically a more obnoxious but self-aware and unapologetic version of Chicago Pd‘s Jay Halstead.

Sofia Carson in The Life List – Picture: Netflix
In March 2024, Netflix confirmed The Life List, a new romantic comedy starring Sofia Carson. The movie is due out on Netflix soon, so we’re here with everything known about it, including the full cast, production updates, plot details, and more on its release date, which is now set for March 28th.
Adam Brooks is on board to both write and direct the project. The Canadian screenwriter and director is no stranger to the romantic comedy space, having written or directed (or both) titles like Definitely, Maybe, and Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason, plus the Netflix Original movie Nappily Ever After, released in 2018.
This isn’t the first time The Lift List has been attempted to be brought to the big screen. Ahead of the book’s release in 2013, Fox 2000 optioned the film rights for the novel, with Hutch Parker set to produce.

While Tgit still isn’t back, ABC still has something for us to watch. It’s all about reality TV and docuseries right now. Meanwhile, CBS, NBC, Fox, and The CW have plenty of scripted and reality shows for us to check out.
Perfect Wife, Matlock, and more
ABC is all about reality and docuseries right now. You likely remember the story of Sherri Papini. If you’re an Eminem fan, that name came up in one of his most recent songs, and if you didn’t know who she was before then, there’s no doubt that you looked the name up to find out what the line was all about.
