Janne Formoe, who plays the main guard, is the daughter of the creator of Captain Sabertooth, Terje Formoe. She plays the character Sunniva, in early productions in the Captain Sabertooth franchise.
Loosely based on the 1994 Norwegian graphic novel "Kaptein Sabeltann og jakten på sultanens skatt!" ("Captain Sabertooth and the hunt for the sultan's treasure!").
Reunites Audun Meling' and Kyrre Haugen Sydness' who previously played father and son in Sludd (2014).
