A sweet romantic comedy that showcases the skill of its cinematographer/DP, in fact it's rare to find a film in this low budget rom com field that looks as good as this film does. The investment is clear on screen. The film is worth noting as well for casting an extremely diverse group of actors, an atypical choice in many similar Hallmark-style romantic comedies. Lead Isaac Akers was another key strength of this film. Charming, committed and with that spark in his performance and personality that makes a star. I see great things in his future. The film serves as a modern day take on the traditional prince and the pauper story, in this case with a celebrity and a small town chef, and the classic mistaken identities.
I went to see this movie with my extended family, expectations were fairly low. I'm not a big rom-com person, nor am I an Indy film person. I like standard mainstream stuff. But the wife said let's go, so I went.
I laughed a surprising amount! Some clever writing and upstart talent in the production squeezed a lot of juice out of the clearly modest budget. The plot is not deep or technical, but had enough fun in the characters and the situational comedy that things I would have nitpicked in a big budget production were happily overlooked.
I came away impressed; if more Hollywood types had the gumption of this type of film team, we'd have a much better entertainment landscape. Worth the watch.

I smiled and laughed a lot. The characters are fun and lovable. The story is original and not quite what I expected. My son laughed the entire time. Loved the loved characters and the diverse actors. The locations were really nice. I loved the scene with the mountains at the end. The script was so clever and original. I'd love to see more films like this. I think the princess character was so lovely and grounded and relatable. I could relate to her in a personal level. That was refreshing. If you want a good laugh, you should definitely go see this movie. I'm looking forward to watching it again.
Comedy, suspense, drama, mystery, and a little bit of romance!
Royal Facade is a family friendly comedy with a story that will keep you engaged. I found myself and my young children laughing throughout. At first it felt like something you'd find on Hallmark, but the storyline is more engaging than predictable.
A fairly good film clearly limited by budget. Frankly, I'd love to see what they could do without the limitations.
At the end of the day, this movie fulfilled its purpose by entertaining my family for movie night. Kid's loved it. My wife and I laughed. You might say it was a "Worth it, winner!" movie.
Recommended.

Royal Facade is a really fun story helmed by passionate crew and performed wonderfully by a talented cast. This indie film does a lot with a minimal budget and makes for a really fun watch with boundless heart.
Shakespeare's "Comedy of Errors" meets Aladdin.
There are one or two scenes where the camera shakes a bit and framing is occasionally a little off but it wears its heart on its sleeve and is a strong directorial, feature-length debut from writer, actor, director, Paul Cartwright.
I found myself laughing frequently and cheering on both protagonists; definitely well worth a watch and one I'll be adding to my library!
