I had the privilege of seeing Moe Taylor's documentary "As Organism" at a film festival a few years back and I loved every second of it, so when I learned he had something new to see, I couldn't wait to sit on the edge of my seat in awe again. Then, I learned the new documentary was about the use of psychedelics for healing purposes??? Very intriguing. I had seen a story on 60 minutes that talks about NIH using magic mushrooms to heal alcoholism and depression, but I still knew that mushrooms were illegal and didn't put much more thought into it until I saw the title and description of this film. Can psychedelics truly be a cure to alcoholism and depression? If so, why wouldn't it be an excellent idea for an award-winning filmmaker to explore it further? To my surprise, the filmmaker opens up within the first few minutes of this documentary to detail deeply personal trials and tribulations he has suffered over the past few decades. From there, it was clear that this documentary and his genuine openness to discuss his past is a gift to the viewers. He discusses various psychedelics and interviews a group of people who are also very open about their experiences, clearly, in order to help others. Once again, I'm impressed not only with his unique display of artistry (similar to As Organism), but also with the groups genuine thoughtfulness toward fellow man. I don't want to discuss the end and the decisions that Moe Taylor made for himself after his research of psychedelics, but I will say that I am impressed with his resilience and care, and thankful that he used his gift of filmmaking to tell a personal story that will undoubtedly help others heal too. Five stars to Moe Taylor. Another gem by BrainDagger Films.
A must see documentary which explores alternative natural means to heal the mind and body. A topic rarely explored, BrainDagger films brings this topic to the forefront, highlighting ways society can explore the potential of natural approaches to manage mental health, physical health and addiction.
BrainDagger Films has crafted this documentary so well, that it should be used in medical and educational curriculum; to help promote understanding and increase knowledge, of how our earth naturally develops medicinal approaches to manage a variety of conditions afflicting our society.

I'm so glad film makers are shedding light on the incredible healing powers of plant medicines that have been used for millenniums. BrainDagger Films and Moe Taylor have done such a wonderful job of creating a unique look at these ancient practices in a way that the general public can understand. Film makers like Moe are instrumental in changing public perception of these powerful medicines, and help squash the decades of irresponsible and damaging propaganda that has been shoved down all of our throats by the powers that be. People like Moe are so important in spreading the message of love, compassion and the healing practices that everyone deserves, and have a birthright to. These plants have been such an important part of every culture throughout history. They let us get in touch with the universal energy that connects us all, and allow us to heal from the inside out, and realize we are all connected and equally important. Love is the most powerful force in the universe. Love conquers all. We need to get back to a state of love, peace and harmony so that the world can heal itself. It is our God given right, and we need to rise up and fight for our rights together and say enough!
This 53 minute film goes a long way to demystifying psychedelics for the general population. Hear from a variety of people who, through interviews, describe their journey to ayahuasca and their healing experiences with its use.
I came to this film with little knowledge and have been enriched by its content. In a world that seems to be increasingly polarized, it can be more and more difficult to identify common ground between two people. Braindagger Films, whose tagline "knowledge is good" has done it again with "The Importance of Strange Perceptions." After viewing, I found myself relating to the people in the film, rather than labeling them as "other" because of their experience with drugs. Rather, we all have more in common then we may first see.
Thank you to the film maker!
