Last two episodes of this show were great and amusing! The start of the show had a very slow onset and I agree it was rather boring. Then it took a turn and we got to see more of the personalities of the characters and the plot unfolded into surreal bowl of pleasant chaos. The animation has a very minimalistic style which is not usual for this decade anymore and I personally enjoy to see this "low effort animation". It really is a matter of taste! The scenes are often repetitive with zero change almost like it's a loop but being put in the right moment they came out as hilarious. Curious how the season 2 will turn out.
I have no problem guaranteeing any negative reviews come from someone who was in a bad mood and gave up minutes in, or hates their life in general.
This show is ridiculously funny. If you actually like comedy and are down for some absurd jokes, you'll love it.
Incredible voice casting. Comedy fans will recognize most characters just by their voice. After checking the cast list you'll recognize even more.
Episode 5 is one of the best episodes of adult animation I've ever seen. Beyond hilarious, Oscars should be given to genius like this.
So stop hating because you don't understand how to have fun. Do your best to enjoy your life. This show will help.

I don't understand the level of hate I've seen in the reviews. When I saw the commercials I wasn't a huge fan of the art style, and the jokes seemed pretty cookie cutter. But then I put on the show and I was impressed with their willingness to "go for it" and not play it totally safe. The delivery from the voice cast is the most favors when it comes to the humor, because yes a fair amount of the jokes are pretty cliche, but the delivery from the brothers is really where this show is at its best. While I don't really think it's quite unique enough to stand out in any significant way yet, I think it's fairly solid in its foundation and I had some genuine laughs that honestly surprised me. I think a lot of the 1/10 reviews are really unjust and a lot of that has to do with the mediocre art direction. Not the best adult animation out there, but certainly not terrible. 1/10 reviews are reserved for absolute corporate trainwrecks, like Chicago Party Aunt, which this is not. 6-7/10, better than "Meh" but nothing game changing.
I consider myself a bit of a critic - especially when it comes to adult animation - and I can confidently say that Royal Crackers is genuinely a well made series. The characters actually have personalities and real motivations. Not everything is a fart or penis joke. And the plot isn't constantly racing to the next punchline. It gets surreal in the best ways but it's also isn't afraid of being a bit serious when needed.
Ive done nothing but sing Royal Cracker's praises to everyone I know. But today I just so happened to look it up on IMDb and I was a bit surprised by the rating. I honestly can't think of anything inherently "wrong" with this show. I feel it's actually an original animated series in a sea of halfhearted family guy clones.
Royal Crackers deserves higher praise and I hope it gets a second season.

All I feel the need to say is that the show is worthy of your time despite the rough exterior. This feels like something Adult Swim would have put out in it's earliest days while also embracing the vulnerability a lot of more modern comedies aren't afraid to have. Whether it be Arrested Development, Bob's Burgers, Bojack Horseman, or Home Movies, this show is never afraid to wear it's influences proudly. And why wouldn't it? Royal Crackers is as every bit familiar as it is inspired. For every scene that feels like comedic homage, there are multiple scenes in this show that simply don't have an equivalent anywhere else (anyone who has seen the season 1 finale will understand what I mean). If you are a fan of classic Adult Swim, THIS is a show you need to check out. I am eager for season 2.
