Adam Watts, a 16-year-old, stumbles into a bank robbery. Later that night, a new energy core is launched but explodes due to a malfunction. Adam, who witnessed the explosion from his apartment, is struck by lightning and goes into a coma.

Adam begins to experiment with his newfound abilities. Later that day, someone begins robbing the bank. Believing it to be the same robber from before, Adam ditches Ethan hoping to atone for his past mistake.

Mightbreaker stands off against the police and easily overpowers them, however Adam, who was briefly knocked out, wakes up and fights Mightbreaker. After the fight, Adam is left wondering if he should seek extra help from someone. Later, Mightbreaker reappears to challenge Adam once again.
