This film really inspired me to learn more about the history of the Bible and why the King James Bible is the preserved word of God in English for use today. I especially enjoyed learning about the men who hazarded their lives for people to be able to read a Bible and specifically to have the correct words of God. Brave men like William Tyndale are an encouragement to live by faith and I truly enjoyed how his death was significantly used to provoke other men to deliver us the Bible we have today. Additionally, the information about how the critical text is not superior to the received text was vital to helping people understand why modern Bibles are not faithful translations of the preserved Greek and Hebrew texts.
This documentary has been the best that I have seen on the King James Bible. It uses a ton of scripture mixed with historical facts. Professionally made with excellent editing and dynamic narrating. It's not too long or too short but just right. This is a great addition to a short list of documentaries on this subject. Whether or not you agree with the independent fundamental Baptist beliefs, this documentary provides enough historical data to show how the King James Bible has been attacked and the events that transpired before it's inception. The historical facts in of itself are compelling but the Bible says "faith cometh by hearing and hearing by the word of God".
Though I had already watched several videos on the history of the Bible including feature length films, I was pleasantly surprised to learn many new things from this documentary.
The production quality was excellent and the content well-researched with many experts chiming in throughout the movie.
My favorite part was the comparison between the King James Bible and previous English versions which highlighted their similarity, in contrast to the modern English translations which are a huge departure.
While I can't say the documentary changed my mind, since I already advocate for the King James Bible as the only English translation we should use, I learned a lot more about the history, the sacrifices and hard work of so many people to give this treasure to the English-speaking people of the world.
