Lovely

Mothers and daughters tend to be that way you say? Well no pun intended I'd answer ... also: there may be more to this. But let's leave that aside for a moment! You have the pairing I already mentioned and you have the mother being over protective. That's the stuff nightmares (or horror movies/shorts) are made of.

Obviously this is binary, so no brownie points for guessing if the mother has every right to be so fearful and if her rules make sense. We do not get too much backstory, but we do not need much. You also do not need to be totally immersed into any particular culture (though I reckon it will hit home more for some than for others).

The acting is ok, might be a bit off at times, but the strong theme really holds it together - as does the script! Really well done. Good lighting, set design and effects in general. It all comes together in the end too ... past and future can only work under certain circumstances ... well for a particular pathway that is. Lovely you say? Well than you would be making the pun ...
