Talon

Talon is a story about a young Dakotaraptor and their friends, an Alamosaurus and a Purgatorius, gaining magical powers via alien interference. It's up to them to find the other champions to protect earth against space invaders.

The pilot starts off as a silent film, and that strongly elevates it as the emotion comes from the sounds and expressions of the animals. Even after speech is introduced it is used sparingly, so there's still a lot of non-verbal communication. I wish it was fully silent, but aliens and stuff.

The dinosaurs and other prehistoric animals are decently accurate. Dakotaraptor might be a dubious genus but it more or less depicts a typical feathered dinosaurs (minus the hand being wing-feather-ess). The titanosaurs have correct finger-less hands, and the pterosaurs are anachornistic rhamphorhynchoids, which is a relief after tons of azhdarchid exposure.

A good start for a series both aimed at action adventure and paleontology.
