Entertaining in its own right for a more softcore take on the sentient synthetic human.. i dig these, but this is nothing like Humans or AI or something deep rooted in moral dilemma concerning artificial self awareness. It's a straight to business affair, as in: Bring in the sex bot and get to cleaning the house until I feel like knocking boots.. and then make me a sandwich. At least it's honest with itself. In this case the bot doesnt act artificial at all, and carries around like a programmed human (make-up, acting issue), but I was still interested to see it's obvious ending play out. The tantalizing beauty playing the bot doesn't hurt anything either. If you don't mind cheap, unconvincing, simplistic, and absolutely no technical merit or plausibility in its premise, then give it a whirl.
The storyline of this film seemed basic yet intriguing based on the directions surrounding the maid droid. What was ultimately the finished product was somewhat of a slower paced anti-climatic and very predictable A. I/droid sci-fi film with with its expected explicit scenes.
After viewing other similar 2023 release AIMEE: The Visitor, directed by Charles Band (also featured Faith West), expected a little more from this film. Maid Droid is watchable but drags on, unlike AIMEE.
The way the film opens is quite a foreshadowing of what we should expect for our lead in the end. As watching and once we are introduced to our maid Mako (Faith West), we know she isn't who she's made out to be and that in the end, the lead male isn't going to survivor. It was only a matter of time. We are simply watching for the journey to see how it happens.
Overall the story started relatively intriguing then slowed down and became repetitive and dull with a lot of dialogue. Ultimately the ending wasn't as suspenseful or thrilling as it should have been. Was halfway expecting a twist but there wasn't any. Very generic ending.

If you miss those old late night skin flick bad movies than you'll love this. For all the reasons people hate this movie it's what makes it so great. Obviously a low budget movie but it has a great concept.
The movie starts with some old guy that got dumped and he decides to hire a maid that's also a "companion". She wants to do everything she can to make her new owner happy except she has ptsd from what the last person didn't her and that creates some serious problems.
The move has its fun and innocent moments and the women in it are hot as you'd expect but the story is good in the fun late night cheesy sort of way. I know these types of movies are niche but if you like low budget horror than you know this movie is a great find.
Also now that I think about it. This came out before the Subservience movie with Megan Fox where she plays a maid that's falls in love with the husband and acts as his companion in that movie.
I mean this movie came out before that one and there's quite a few similarities except Subservience had a bigger budget and actors you've heard of.
That's another thing about low budget movies. Bigger production companies like to steal their ideas and you'd hardly ever connect that it was robbed from cheesy little movies like this.

When I sat down to watch the 2023 sci-fi thriller "Maid Droid", from writer and director Rich Mallery, I had never actually heard about the movie. But the movie's synopsis sounded interesting enough. And with it being a movie that I hadn't already seen, of course I opted to give the movie a chance.
I made it 49 minutes through the 91 minute runtime. Then I just had to give up out of sheer and utter boredom. The storyline was insanely slow paced and it felt more like writer and director Rich Mallery was more focused on showing nudity and pseudo-sex scenes rather than focusing on upkeeping the narrative. And the fact that nothing interesting happened in the 49 minutes that I endure, well that just caused me to give up on the ordeal. Trust me when I say that I am never bothering returning to attempt to watch the rest of the movie, because it was simply not worth the effort.
The acting performances in the movie were wooden and rigid. Now, I have seen worse acting performances in other movies, and while the actors and actresses in the movie weren't per se poor performers, then the performances were just devoid of life, commitment, heart and spirit. And that made for a rather bland and mundane viewing experience. Needless to say that I wasn't familiar with anyone on the cast list here. Nor were I inspired to venture out and tracking down other movies with the people on the cast list.
"Maid Droid" was a cluttered attempt of a movie, where there was too much focus on nudity and softcore sex scenes. And that is not really what I sit down to watch when I opt to watch a movie.
The movie is listed as a sci-fi thriller, well there wasn't much of any actual thrills to be seen on the screen; at least not in the 49 minutes of absolute boredom that I suffered through.
My rating of writer and director Rich Mallery's 2023 sci-fi thriller "Maid Droid" lands on a two out of ten stars.

That's right, it's boobs. Lots of boobs. Well to be more specific, the boobs of the two main actresses in the movie.
To tell the truth I was quite shocked and I am not easily shocked. After all I did grow up in the video nasties of the late seventies and the boob fest of the eighties.
I realise now that I am going on about boobs quite a lot and not reviewing the film. It's nothing special. AI robot maid in service of man that abuses her and she malfunctions. There is also a creepy company that knows everything about its customers before they ring. Not an original plot. The acting is so so and it's filmed on a micro budget.
Four out of ten. One for each boob.
