Where do I start the bad cgi (worst than the show from 2013) it doesn't feel like a movie just a episode with a low budget and I enjoyed the show very much and the characters shows little to no development from 2018 but other than that it just feel like a bad episode from the show. Most of the sets that's not the original sets looks bad like the whole first scene the superpower look bad the meteor looks bad when they destroy it, it looks horrible. But the positives they got all the old cast back and most of the sets that came from the old show they look the same but because of the bad cgi , sets and low budget feeling I can't give it above a 3.
Thunderman Returns is a film that can be rated in two ways: the fact that it is a television film created by Nickelodeon, and its cinematic level. I made a middle ground. This return of Nickelodeon's most beloved superhero family is made very well for the message he wants to send: so much, so much fan service. One thing that made everything better is the fact that we managed to keep all the same actors in the series, which, I must say, do a good test overall. The best actor is in my opinion Chris Tallman, who confirms that he is a good actor. Kira Kosarin, Jack Griffo and the others also do a good job. The special effects and the direction are the big flaw of the film, but I understand since Nickelodeon is not a production company that must aim for a high technical compartment. The soundtracks are as spectacular as when I watched the sitcom as a child, even the setting is as spectacular as in the series. Not to mention the laughter, I think it's the biggest point in favor of the movie, I never stopped laughing, just like when I watched the sitcom.... good times. Another thing that I liked is the original story, which does not look like the plot of the series but that finds some antagonists. Taking the average between the two possibilities of evaluation came out a good grade for what the film aspires to.

The Thundermans Return is probably a nostalgia trip for most viewers, but for me it's just a movie as I've never seen any other Thundermans media. That being said I have seen other tv Disney/Nickelodeon movies like Z. O. M. B. I. E. S 1, 2 and 3 as well as Descendants 1 and 2 etc. All of which I really enjoyed.
The Thundermans Return doesn't seem to have the most interesting story, though I guess it is serviceable at least. It instead tries to relay on canned laughter and applause which is just really annoying to be honest. So for me personally the movie doesn't have any of the charm that Descendants or ZOMBIES does. Both of which have more interesting storylines to me at least and are not running a laugh track every 2 seconds.
The casting is by far the best part with the absolutely stunning Kira Kosarin playing Phoebe Thunderman. Jack Griffo plays her twin brother Max. The rest of the cast are not actors I'm familiar with and their characters are unfortunately rather lackluster though this could be due to having their character development in the tv show instead of any of it here in the movie.
The effects are just disappointing with worse Visual and Sound effects then you would find in Descendants 1 or ZOMBIES 1 both of which are much older movies. In fact you could definitely find better VFX done on youtube, to see this on an actual movie is just sad.
Overall I give the movie a 6/10. The storyline is boring and honestly is not worth mentioning. The casting is okay overall though none of the acting is any good, this could just be due to the poor story and lack of material for the actors though. I did enjoy Max and Phoebe's performances however. The VFX and SFX was just all around disappointing. I would have given the movie a 4/10 but Kira Kosarin is absolutely gorgeous and gets +2 stars just for being in the film.
I wouldn't recommend this film generally, unless you are a Thundermans fan and/or are coming from the TV Show. My review is rather critical but I am judging it purely on itself as I have not seen the TV Show or any other Thundermans media.

This is an alright reunion film that could have been a lot better if the crew had added some extra effort and strength. It was nice to see the cast return and to see how much they have grown up. This reunion film did not exactly fully recapture the same energy and spirit from the original series. The storyline of this reunion film was straightforward and weak. I understand why the crew had put it like that but it was not really enough. This reunion film reveals to viewers that everyone has a home. Unfortunately, I do not have a real home. Wherever I go, I always feel uncomfortable. This is a fine enough reunion film that could have been better.
The Thundermans Return
This film serves as a continuation of the beloved Nickelodeon series, "The Thundermans," and is sure to delight fans of the show. While some flaws, particularly in the CGI department, may be apparent from a critical perspective, it's important to consider that these elements are likely less noticeable to the film's target audience.
The acting remains consistent with that of the series, also mirroring its plot structure, set design, and overall tone of the series. This faithful adaptation effectively evokes nostalgia for fans of the original show. Considering the current landscape of Nickelodeon series, a potential reboot sparked by this film would be a welcome development.
