    Still No Good Payoff

I still can't believe we waited so long for a whole lot of nothing this season. There are so many sub-par plot points going on that it makes it a chore to get through at times. I hope the writers and creators learn their lesson and concern themselves more about telling a good story and keeping it interesting than virtue signaling. Almost nothing has been gained so far this season except for the battle of Rook's Rest. It shouldn't be hard to make a compelling series with such great source material but here we are. Can't say I'm excited for the next episode now if we stay on this track. Very disappointed.

I can't believe we've been waiting two years for this crap.!!!

I do not know whether it is a problem with the "writing" or a problem with the "directing", but what I am sure of is that what we are seeing now is a very, very "big disappointment".!!

We wait two years of suspense to give me 8 episodes of extreme badness and weakness? Is the story this weak and poor?

Frankly, I am not satisfied with the episode or the entire season. Even the dragon battle in the fourth episode was not epic and does not compensate or cover the extent of the weakness and poverty in the series.

In fact, this season is one of the worst I have ever seen from George R. R. Martin, and many unimportant scenes are filled in instead of important ones.

For me, the series is a big "disappointment" and I did not expect it to be this weak and bad after waiting two years, and I do not expect that the next two episodes will change anything in my opinion of this series.

    House of Dragging

Season 2 - It is soooo unbelievably slow. Waiting for a week for one episode where literally nothing happens. Bits and pieces that's all.

As someone said in the review it is just a filler episode.

I am so glad I was late to the party and I could binge watched HoD season one and it was fantastic 9/10. But honestly, if I had to wait a year for this. I understand people's frustrations. But now to wait every week for an hour episode, stretched out without any major event, without suspense. The writing or directing or honestly I do not know what went wrong, but it is very disappointing and went from the wonderful high peak straight downhill.

We are in year of Dragon, we should make House of Dragon great again.

    The spark has been dulled

With Rhaenyra's endless laments about her inaction, Daemon's frustrating Harrenhal sequences, and endless stares of a downtrodden Alicent, the story has grown stagnant.

The Dance of the Dragons is a story of epic tragedy. Let us see it and feel it with these characters. Show us the manoeuvring rather than always verbalising it in the same settings. Show us the familial bonds between these characters so they feel like an actual family. Let the characters make choices (and not via 'accidents'). Let the Velaryons have dimension rather than existing as mere tools to say 'yes' to Rhaenyra. Let us scream with rage at these characters and cry when they cry. Just make us feel something worthwhile, because with each episode, it's becoming harder and harder to care.

If you think this is boring I don't know what to tell you

The title of this review pretty much sums it up. I'm seeing a lot of negative reviews saying how boring this is and how nothing is interesting but I can't for the life of me understand why.

There were so many rich character interactions in this episode especially in Kings Landing. There was even a few actiony scenes that people have been clamoring for.

The only thing I'm not sure about is the development with Rhaynera and Mysaria at the end but only because I'm not sure where they'll go with it. If it becomes something worthwhile then I'll be completely fine with it.

Other than that I loved this episode. Gwayne had a great scene here and Alicent shined throughout the whole episode. But the main standouts here were Daemon and Larys. People have been upset about Daemkns plot line and I guess I can understand but there's no way people don't like his scenes this episode.

Please just don't watch the show anymore if you find it so boring. Just because there isn't a battle doesn't mean nothing is happening. If you pay attention to the character work then many of the dialogue scenes will become so much more and you'll hopefully realize how well thought out and brimming with subtext and nuance this show is.

The Targaryen sigils in this episode show the correct two-legged dragon for both the Blacks and the Greens, rather than the previously incorrect four-legged version noted by George R.R. Martin.
    • Quotes

Prince Daemon Targaryen: She never even wanted it. The crown. She spared it no thought.

Alys Rivers: Well, that's perhaps why your brother gave the crown to her. Perhaps those who strive for it are the least suited to wear it.

Prince Daemon Targaryen: Don't lecture me!

      [pause]

Alys Rivers: Viserys never wanted it himself, if you recall. It came to him, and he did his best. It's not a prize to be won, but a burden to bear.
