It feels like someone's fantasy wrapped with a story, just to make it a movie. Or maybe a creepypasta story that someone liked so much, they wanted to film it.
-The acting is decent, needs improvement.
-Visually, there's nothing wrong it.
-There's some repetitive moments, like when the main character is looking through the window. The two or three times he is seeing the same thing- a hot girl, with variations of what she is doing. Or the moment when he is sitting in his car and witnessing the vampire killing someone. It happens two times. This is a lack of creativity and ideas. Thos could have been done better.
-The suspenseful soundtrack doesn't do it's job. It isn't scary, or mysterious. Everything feels unreal, so it can't scare us.
The most positive thig about this movie?... Well, If the filmmakers can put emphasis on the two hot girls, so can I. But I'm not going for the vampires. They are like video game characters. They can't impess me with overly sexual stuff. Liz is my girl. The actress is gorgeous. I really hope she will appear in more movies.

It started off better than it ended. Too many coincidences and when it got slow all I could think was if this was a porn the movie would be so much better! Someone needs to find some body doubles (as the actresses seem too uptight to embrace their primal side without along the constraints of social programming to control their choices) I'm sure all the male actors would say hell yea so body doubles needed and splice this the way it should play out! Each one of the love interest kind of blends especially what he sees through his window two thirds of the way in, that had some potential. Either way if it is on sale and you've literally watched at least half of what is on the internet go for it you've already seen worse.
Yeah, B Movie Vampire with all the chringe you can't handle.. Not much more to really say about this... Came accross it and thought it might be one of those B movies that is so bad, its acctually good, Sharknado, Sharknado2, Sharknado3, Sharknado4, Sharknado (and however much more they squeeze into that series to death), meg (but not a B movie, but made to look like one), etc... Don't go in with high hopes and see it for what it is, pretty bad acting/directing/script/etc...
Plus, anyone see anything suspissious about the cover??? It looks just like the entire TrueBlood Series on HBO posters. Same thing, the white figure/charector with fangs out and blood dripping down and tongue wipping along their lips.

You should not go in this expecting a masterpiece. Its low budget, plot is nothing revolutionary. Camera work is decent, acting is not bad, the main actor Cameron was sorta ok. I think the girls are newish in the acting business, so they do look a little bit off.
Its a story of a girl living next door to him, that happens to be a vampire on a mission. I will not give too much details, but when she does kill the old man that is supposed to be a vampire, you never actually see anything that would make him a vampire. Strange decision by the director.
I did chuckle and laugh few times at the jokes, mostly at his workplace. I did not really see much chemistry between the characters, and the last scene when the blonde was explaining the brunette the past was rushed. Funny thing that only the kiss between the two girls was pretty darn good, its like that is the only chemistry that really stood out. Its like they are dating in real life haha.
Overall a decent horror vampire comedy. Nothing spectacular, but not really that bad.

Stumbling upon the 2024 movie "The Vampire Next Door" by random luck here in 2024, and never having heard about it, I opted to sit down and watch it, given the fact that it is a new vampire-themed horror movie that I hadn't already seen. And I was sort of hoping that given the movie's title and synopsis, then maybe it would be a movie somewhat akin to "Fright Night".
I have to say that the movie's cover/poster was cheesy, so very, very cheesy, and it felt like the movie might have belonged in the "True Blood" universe, or that kind of teenage girl vampire fantasy setting.
The narrative in "The Vampire Next Door" was rather slow paced and uneventful, and that made sitting through the movie somewhat of a struggle and an ordeal. And I have to say that I was close to giving up on watching it more than once throughout the course of the 110 minutes that the movie ran for. So writer and director Sean King didn't exactly impress me with his 2024 horror movie "The Vampire Next Door".
And I am not fully sure of what genre of movie Sean King was aiming for here. Was it supposed to be an actual horror movie, or perhaps a horror comedy? Either way, the attempt wasn't particularly successful, especially since the movie was light in the horror department and rather lacking in the comedy department.
I wasn't familiar with the cast ensemble in the movie, but it should be noted that the actors and actresses on the cast list actually put on good performances and brought the characters and story to life on the screen in a good way.
The movie could have benefitted tremendously for a more upscaled narrative and also a more effective trim in the editing room, because running at nearly two hours and with so precious little happening in the narrative, just didn't exactly make for a grand viewing experience.
There was a little bit of blood and violence in the movie, which sort of did help to keep the movie somewhat afloat. But it just wasn't nowhere enough to sustain nearly two hours of virtually nothing happening and all of the movie's shortcomings.
My rating of "The Vampire Next Door" lands on a four out of ten stars.
