There are so many fascinating things about Cary Grant. The producer of this documentary chose one "hook" and his two "film historians" put everything through that lens. This is not so much a documentary about Cary Grant's life as an endless rehashing of the theme that Grant remade himself with every role. They almost made him seem like The Talented Mr. Ripley.

Yes, there was some early history; some of it very interesting. Yet there was no mention of several marriages; very little at all of his personal life. There was an impassioned bit on how he became a father as one of his iterations - but no mention of Dyan Cannon. Nothing about his life after movies.
