This series from Walter/RAI has quite a lot going for it - interestingly believable characters, decent plot, good screenplay and direction, and not too many twists and turns. It holds the interest, avoids excessive violence, gore and irrelevant sex - as such, suitable family viewing. Of course, as is the norm for Italian drama, the players are well-dressed and there is robust interaction - not to say some subtle humour along the way. An added attraction: the audience is drawn into trying to work out who really are the bad guys, and their motivation. One criticism - some over-lengthy dramatic pauses!
