After being shelved by the producers in 2013, the film ended up getting a release in 2015 after the success of Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015), starring Kangana Ranaut and Madhavan. The latter was originally signed for the role of Ishan in "I Love NY" but later opted out.

Kangana filed a case against the makers for cashing on her success releasing the film.

In real life, Sunny Deol is 29 and a half years older than Kangana Ranaut.

Sanjay Dutt was originally signed for the film in 2009.

The film did not have a theatrical release in British Columbia, Canada.
