Asher Keddie remains in my top 3 favourite actors of all time & her performance in Strife doesn't disappoint! I wasn't sure I'd get to see her play a character more endearing & awkwardly hilarious than Nina in Offspring again. I'm still up at 2am binging the entirety of season 1!
I loved seeing her portray Evelyn; a feisty, funny yet vulnerable & authentic feminist based on MamaMia & Mia Freedman's book. (Another absolutely fab Aussie woman!)
It was also really nice to see lesser known actors that haven't been "recycled" in heaps of other Australian TV shows. Really hoping for a season 2! Well done to all cast, writers & crew. <3.

Great show, as a sixty year old bloke I found this an interesting insight into how women think ( assuming it is close to reality of course ). Funny, endearing and also a little bit cringy.
Made me thankful to be a man...lol. Great Aussie stuff! Definitely worth a watch. I gave it 6 Stars, could possibly be 8 Stars but I am conservative with my ratings.
Can not wait for season 2.
Just binged season 2 and I was blown away. I did not think they could improve on the first season but believe me, they did. Asher Keddie's performance was again outstanding, so believable, so honest and very funny.
I really do hope this show is a true representation of how women think as it truly opened my narrow male mind as to a females perspective on life.
I highly recommend this show, watch it to the end, episode 8 is well worth it!
I have increased my rating to a well deserved 8 Stars.

Well made, funny, captivating and I love how if you followed Mia's story you recognise certain characters and events and her polarising character but it is not over or under done. Just what this tired old feminist needed plus Asher is amazing and the perfect casting choice. Honestly I just loved it and would have said no notes if it was allowed. Australian television gets a bad rap but this is an absolutely gem. I am so desperate for a season two, I could even see it continue on for many seasons! I watched it all on a day as I could not help myself, I had to finish it but then I was so sad it was over when it was.
Season 1 was a bit slow going as you get to know the characters but by season 2 I was hooked. I understand what people are saying about the main character being unlikeable at times in season 1, but if you've read the book this is kind of crucial to the story. I think we're so used to the main character being the perfect person we're gunning for, but I love that Evelyn Jones is flawed. I love the Mamamia brand & the story of how it came about, so it helps to watch it with some back story, but in saying that my husband watched it with me & also loved it. Laughs, tears, and Asher Keddie. Loved it!
Can someone please apologise to Asher Keddie and Tina Bursill? That would be great thanks.
If this is what post Brian Walsh can look like at Foxtel/Binge I dread whats coming next.
I just could not get into this and watched it over the course of a few days because there is no way this should've been made into a show.
Can we please stop greenlighting peoples memoirs please because after the failure that was Warnie this year you think Binge/Foxtel would've served up something just a little bit better.
Don't get me wrong Asher is a national treasure but I feel like someone just handed her the script and went "read it now"... Do yourself a favour, skip this.
