      An absurd afterword

A formal and indirect conclusion following the conventional trilogy, which usually includes "Assa" (1987), "Chyornaya roza - emblema pechali, krasnaya roza - emblema lyubvi" (1989) and "Dom pod zvyozdnym nebom" (1991).

This work is an incoherent, including taking into account the once set level of farce, hodgepodge of elements inserted here and there. I will dwell on the key ones. The first is flashbacks from the first film (some of which are shown several times). The second is the strangely inserted, and no less inappropriately looking, performances of the Leningrad group, coupled with drunken showdowns. The third is the no less out of context filming of another film by the director, Anna Karenina (2008). The fourth is a sluggish main action, which here constitutes, perhaps, the smallest part of the short running time, in its own, but very peculiar way, continuing the plot of the original work, while along the way juggling years and dates that diverge from those that appeared earlier.

I very rarely give the lowest possible rating, but here is a case where it is unclear why, for whom, and why such a thing was filmed. However, it is quite possible that the director himself did not have an answer to a series of these rhetorical questions.
