Veterans and the Scourge of Invisible Illness

This interview style, short documentary made my heart happy. Watching the struggles of those living with invisible chronic conditions validates my own struggles living with invisible disabilities. Typically, with Veteran specific movies, tv series and documentaries, they tend to showcase mostly male veterans more often that female veterans. This documentary helps promote female veterans and their experiences while serving their country, and the aftermath of their service, struggling to obtain healthcare, supports, validation and benefits. It is amazing how all veterans featured, were able to accomplish so much and assist the veteran community! Thank you for this film and amplifying veteran voices.

In just under 12 minutes, this short documentary spotlights veterans living with invisible medical conditions, in an authentic and genuine way, allowing the space for the veterans interviewed to share about life with medical conditions others "can't see." This short documentary highlights pervasive negative societal attitudes towards people living with invisible disabilities and barriers people contend with accessing medical care and being believed by medical professionals, family, friends and family as a whole. This documentary also highlights the importance of not judging what we can not see and ways for veterans to find added support and advocacy. Highly recommend!

A much needed documentary, to highlight and address the gaps in healthcare and stigmas, Veterans face while living with invisible illnesses. This short film brilliantly and poignantly exposes the invisible struggles of cultural understanding and lack of support for Veterans living with chronic pain and fibromyalgia. Despite the odds, Veterans featured in this documentary have found ways to not only push through stereotypes and societal barriers, but they also found innovative ways to turn their pain into purpose, and continue serving their fellow veterans who struggle with mental health, chronic illnesses and chronic pain. Both informational and inspiring, this short film is a must watch for the general public!
