    the first work day

Cold portrait of corporatism, puppets and animation, two young women in their first job day and a murder saving life of one of employees.

A short film about an absurd world , the symbols defining, in fair manner, the mechanism of a Kafkaiesque structure , the abuse of power , the imixtion in personal life of stagiaries and the nepotism as expression of succes.

The main virtue, no doubts, the high realism of story, from the enthusiasm of beginning to aspects of reality in a tour defining the high cynism of industry.

In short, a profound inspired satire with virtues of verdict not only about corporations but about ordinary every day realities.

    Nauseating

Nauseating gore effects here. I'm thankful most was off screen but geez man. And I usually enjoy fake gore!

The cast was decent. Our main girls looked a little too much alike, made some shots hard to follow. The guy playing Feldspar was... something. Very well cast for the role, just not sure if his absurd style accentuated or softened the horror. Sometimes he brings the uncanniness to 110%, other times he keeps the graphic stuff from getting too heavy.

The puppets were really well designed I think. They resemble kind of sloppy and cheap sesame street puppets, which at first I thought made them feel less alive. But following the twists of the story I think it finds a nice balance between the wonderland this is supposed to be and the actual misery these puppets live in.

Love the set design, really fun stuff. The building does feel like a huge corporate office despite being only a handful of sets. Not too pandering like a lot of nostalgia horror (FNaF, Poppy Playtime etc.). This looks like a place a kid would actually enjoy.

Last complaint: the animated sequences. They were functional, but weren't that interesting to look at. I hate to say it because I know that stuff takes a crazy amount of hours.
