Mutt and Jeff are skating insstructors and a couple of women come for instructions. Jeff gets the fat one, and there are a long series of gags about her weight, before we refocus on Mutt, who seems to have become trapped atop a bird flying off into the horizon, while Jeff tries to rescue Mutt by shooting them down.
Director Charley Bowers plays a lot with perspective and conservation of motion, which are nice visual topics for a winter sports cartoon. Yet he never forgets this is a cartoon, so we see some moderately subtle examples of the Laws of Cartoon Physics, which are still in development at this stage.
