Exceptional Chinese drama that manages to stand out in the vast landscape of romance series. It brings a fresh and original concept to the table, making it a must-watch for anyone who appreciates a well-crafted story.
What truly sets this drama apart is its exploration of love tribulations. Instead of following the traditional, straightforward path of most romantic series, it delves into the complexities and challenges that love can bring. This intricate exploration keeps viewers engaged from the very first episode to the final scene, as we witness the characters navigate their way through the various ups and downs of romantic relationships.
One of the standout elements of the drama is how the story and plot come full circle. Loved to see every little part of their story making sense in every tribulation, whether being in their past or in their future. This is a hallmark of excellent storytelling, and this drama executes it brilliantly. I appreciated the careful attention to detail and the way loose ends were tied up, providing a satisfying and well-rounded narrative that left me feeling fulfilled.
A particularly heartwarming aspect of the drama is the portrayal of the second male lead. Initially, he harbors a crush on the female lead, which adds a layer of tension and intrigue to the story. However, what truly makes his character shine is his growth and maturity as the series progresses. He learns to respect the female lead's feelings and prioritize what is best for her. This character development delivers a powerful message of wholesome love, highlighting the importance of respecting one another's emotions and choices. It's a refreshing departure from the usual toxic love triangles that often plague romance dramas.
The production values of Love You Seven Times are nothing short of outstanding. The visual effects, music, and costumes are of exceptionally high quality. The attention to detail in recreating the time period and setting adds depth and authenticity to the storytelling. The soundtrack complements the emotions of the scenes perfectly, enhancing the overall viewing experience and immersing viewers into the world of the story. This commitment to excellence in production deserves special recognition, as it elevates the drama to a higher level of quality.
However, as much as I enjoyed this series I couldn't help but feel that there was untapped potential in the emotional depth and chemistry between the main couple. While their relationship was central to the story, the script didn't dive deep as it could have into their feelings and conversations. This missed opportunity left me wanting more, as I longed for a deeper connection and a greater exploration of the emotional complexities that come with love.
Ending felt lazy.
In conclusion, the series is undeniably a fantastic drama that has a lot to offer. It's a testament to the creativity and talent of its creators, and it's a delightful addition to the world of romance series. However, I can't help but wonder how much more amazing it could have been with a more emotionally charged and mature script, along with a different casting direction. It's a great watch that will undoubtedly captivate fans of the genre, but with a few tweaks, it had the potential to be an absolute masterpiece. Nonetheless, it's a series that will leave you both satisfied and yearning for a deeper exploration of love and its intricacies.

This was one of my favourite costume fantasy dramas so far, and I have watched plenty! Although the plot wasn't new, but the story was well written and kept my interest from start to finish, with no dull moments whatsoever. Add to it good looking actors with excellent onscreen chemistry, an entertaining story, good OST, great supporting cast, and we have a sure shot hit! This series was a sister production of Love between Fairy & Devil, and I felt it was better than LBFD, just because the female lead didn't behave like a 5 yr old in this one. LBFD was worth watching only for Dylan Wang, who was as always phenomenal, while this one is a complete package. Ding Yu Xi looks great in historical characters, and God of War suited him a lot. As for the female lead, it was my first time watching her and she didn't disappoint at all.

"Love You Seven Times" introduces a fresh perspective into the realm of oriental fantasy - the mythical paradise of vibrant clouds. Each iteration presents a distinct persona and narrative. At the conclusion of every cycle, the protagonists return to the celestial realm with shared experiences and memories. They then continue along the main axis, elevating their relationship in the subsequent iteration. This continuous stream of both tender and challenging scenarios not only offers novelty but also demands adept portrayal. Thankfully, the two main actors adeptly embody their roles. Xiang Yun's character exudes a blend of softness, cuteness, and eccentricity, prompting many fans to describe her as "if a cloud were to become a fairy, she would likely resemble this."
Let me tell you, my stamp of approval comes by rarely. I have only completed one drama in the past 3 years. This one hits the mark. Love the cast, love the costumes, the special effects, the story, the music everything. The music were so well place and sounded great. Wish the story could have been longer but overall it was great. I never read the book but it was gotten me curious on what was changed. But the drama definitely won me over. Not only was I touched at moments I should be but it was light hearted and fluffy that I didn't become too depressed. It was funny and sweet that it kept me sucked in like a kid wanting sweets. They also tied up lose ends and all so no disappointment. Definitely a HE.
You will not be disappointed. It was one of those drama you couldn't put down and boy I came across so many that are left hanging cause I stopped watching and never had a reason to continue cause it didn't captivate me to continue.

Love You Seven Times opens up a brand new worldview of oriental fantasy - the mythical paradise of colorful clouds. Each copy has a different persona and story. At the end of a copy, the two will return to the heavenly realm with this common experience and memory, and then start from the main axis to continue and sublimate their relationship to the next copy. Such an infinite flow of sweet and sadistic settings, in addition to novelty is also quite challenging, good thing that the two main actors each hold up the persona. Xiang Yun this role, soft and cute and quirky, a lot of fans quoted her simply "if a cloud into a fairy, probably her like this". As each copy of the story progresses, the two protagonists gradually deepen their feelings, no matter when or where they meet, they will steadfastly fall in love with each other, and constantly strive to run in both directions, which is the growth of Xiangyun and Chukong in their emotions. The people in the story become better versions of themselves while falling in love with each other. In order to stay with their beloved for a long time, they will do their best to reverse the deadlock, so that the seven love affairs will no longer be tied by a red thread, but earned by both parties working together.
