I'll keep it short. This show gets better and better with each episode. How many show cna you say are like that? So if yous truggle to get through the first episodes, like I did. Just remember season 2 is even better and the ending is amazing.
I promised to much, as their require me to keep it at 600 words. So let me recommend other amazing shows, Attack of Titan, Sword Age Online, Classroom of the Elite, Arcane, Dr Stone, Full Metal Alchemist, Berserk, Death Notes, Tokyo Ghouls, The Rising of the Shield Hero, Campfire Cooking in Another World with My Absurd Skill, Holmes of Kyoto and so many more.

This was a let down. It's too populated with disjoint storylines which makes it very hard for me to follow the plot or root for any character. It had potential. The plot is interesting. But we just don't get any answers. We just keep getting more questions and more plotlines that aren't in any way connected to the previous one. And I was actually looking forward to this given that it was made by the author of Durarara and Baccano.
But it's possible that if these main characters were interesting, I wouldn't have paid that much attention to the plot. Unfortunately they weren't. They were just shallow, with 1 or 2 traits carrying their personality. A few side characters were a bit more interesting. But because of so many plotlines running together, none of them gets sufficient screentime.
Studio Geek Toys did a good job with the sound design and the action sequences. But other than that nothing really stood out and I thought they could've done just a bit better.
Overall, I'm dropping the series now. Although I wonder if it'll get another season or not. Maybe the manga has more to offer.

Mysterious, hilarious and wholesome
When you first start watching its confusing, then as it unfold the mystery keeps me on my toes as we follow the cast of characters who are sweet, batshit crazy or both in their respective rights.
It's actually really refreshing and most satisfying thing to watch the plot unfold and realizing that the odd thing you saw earlier is actually a huge part of the plot - mind blowing.
The humor absolutely gets me everytime, with the characters just being themselves. They have interesting personalities that I can't help but adore! I'm excited for them to explore their stories in season 2, but am also disturbed by the low IMDB ratings which often mean there won't be a 2nd season if people don't give this more love.
This Anime is an awesome mix of fantasy and modern world. On Crunchyroll its given 4.7, so I don't understand this IMDb rating.
It contains assassins, detectives, a powerful family and people who've transcend human capabilities - what is there not to like.

Among the sea of nonsense this is a breath of fresh air. Dead Mount Death Play is one of the most underrated anime in recent years. It blends urban fantasy, supernatural elements, and crime drama while flipping the usual isekai formula. Instead of a modern day person getting transported to a fantasy world, we get a powerful necromancer reincarnated into modern Tokyo. That twist alone makes it stand out.
The pacing is deliberate but never boring. It takes its time building a gritty world full of yakuza, assassins, and spirits, and somehow makes it all work. The protagonist, Polka, is calm and quiet on the surface but clearly dangerous. The side characters, especially Misaki and Clarissa, add a lot of chaotic and fun energy to the mix.
Visually, it's decent. The animation isn't flashy but it fits the dark tone. The opening theme is a banger. What really makes this show special is how it mixes genres and tone. One minute it's a mob story, the next it's a ghost mystery, and then it becomes a weird slice-of-life with undead vibes.
If you're into unique anime with layered storytelling and morally gray characters, this one's worth your time.

Here is one word - Complicated. I think that would describe the show best. It's a hidden gem. Don't get me wrong, a lot of people are going to complain there are too many character introduction without backstory. But that is exactly what makes this show as an amazing piece of art. The backstory is always limited to keep the pace of the show constant. There is always start, story, battle, and then an epilogue. I would go as far as to say I love the writer. This was not a simple story to write. From the complexity point of view of the story I would say it's 8/10. But the main theme is the pace. 10/10. I would love is all anime was Acker to keep up the powder like this. Not a single episode is boring, or a filler so far. And every episode is evolving one after another. Plus the beginning of it also was surprising. I'm definitely keeping my fingers crossed that we get more seasons of this show. Do watch it till the episode 24, and then you'll realise it. First 3 episodes will feel like a drag, but that's how the pace is designed or rather directed.
