The Last Violin

I watched this documentary on SBS yesterday and I'm not ashamed to say, I cried my eyes out - and I'm a big bloke!

Seriously though, I was left feeling deeply moved on many levels; moved because the story, so masterfully told, speaks to the power of friendship, love, and care; moved witnessing the exactitude, patience and longevity of the work involved in making a violin of such calibre that sings so purely; and moved listening to that hauntingly beautiful music written and played by the composer.

As well, the film was masterfully filmed and edited, abounding with gorgeous close-up shots, bringing the audience deep into the workshop with Harry, the lovable violin maker.

My heart soared. What a man! What a life! Heartfelt thanks for telling this story. And in such a way!
