A decade and a half ago, Yun Xiang (Chen Xiao)'s family was cruelly slaughtered in a mysterious massacre that engulfed an entire village. After hiding away from the rest of the world, he has decided to return - and seek both answers and revenge. He has no fighting skills, but is quick-witted. Realizing that he cannot hope to complete his quest alone, he enlists the help of a motley crew of allies. These include the beautiful but secretive Shu Ya Nan (Mao Xiao Tong). The latter is an orphan who was once taken in by his master. She is a fierce and skilled fighter, but appears to have a few skeletons in her closet. Along with the expert swordsman Jin Biao (Liu Guan Lin) and the martial arts connoisseur Su Ming Yu (Tan Xiao Tan), Yun Xiang and Shu Ya Nan head off in search of the truth. But how far can Yun Xiang trust his band of warrior allies? As they edge ever closer to the truth, the band unearths deadly secrets from the past and faces seemingly insurmountable obstacles.
