Relocated from the city to a secluded village in a mystical forest, social misfit Alva (16) doesn't like her new surroundings. That is until she befriends the self-assured Esma (17) and as her feelings towards Esma begin to intensify.

Alva's hopes of a genuine connection are overshadowed by strange goings on in the forest. There is something there that seems to call to Alva. As the forest beckons her in, Alva senses that something is terribly wrong.

Esma introduces Alva to her band, and Alva gets to sit in on their rehearsal. The village is buzzing with weird stories about Alva's Uncle Jonathan. Toni is worried about her mother.

Strange mushrooms seem to grow wherever Alva is. She opens up to Esma, and discovers a connection to her uncle.

Alva finds some old drawings by her uncle. Hoping for some answers, she visits the woman in the picture he drew. Alva and Esma grow closer.

Alva has a bizarre experience in the forest. While Esma remains skeptical, someone unexpected shares Alva's belief that something is not right in the forest.

Jarne and Alva embark on a secret plan to find out more about the creature in the forest. Her mysterious rash is becoming increasingly more defined.

Courtesy of a mysterious package, Alva realizes what really happened to her uncle. Her attempt to let Esma in on it fails. Toni starts questioning how Jarne is acting.

After her fight with Esma, Alva is left on her own with a new and pivotal clue. The situation escalates at the festival in the village.

Alva goes deeper and deeper into the forest. Esma and Jarne try to halt the transformation process. After the village festival, nothing will ever be the same for friends Toni, Thilo, Jarne, and Polly.
