Bat-Fam

Loving this. It's a series based on the "Merry batman," the xmas movie from 2 years ago, featuring Damian as a cute, father-loving, but annoying and destructive mini Batman.

I never did like, "The Animated Batman, the Adventure Continues. It really wasn't a continuation of the classic BAS, and based on the fact that only a few episodes were produced, I think fellow fans agreed.

The one thing I love about Batman (my favorite superhero) is that he can be anything for all his fans: funny, serious, goofy, dramatic, live action, comics, graphic novel, animation etc. I tend to favor the lighter animated version of Batman, with "Batman, the Brave and the Bold," being my favorite, followed by anything Batman and the Scooby-Doo gang. I can't imagine any of the Marvel characters partnering with the Scooby Doo, the dog, can you?

This show is funky, cute adorable, and family oriented. Having one of the Wilson Brothers voice Batman/Bruce Wayne was a great move as well as adding some funky side characters. We see Alfred as a super wrinkle 90 year old, Man-bat as a pet, Selina as an actual lazy cat pet of Damien, Rahs al Ghul, floating in the mansion as a ghost and mentoring his grandson are just a few of the characters living at Wayne Manor. I feel like the creators and the powers to be let their imagination go wild. I'm halfway through all the episodes and enjoying a good belly laugh. A fun escapism series for the holidays.

Bat-Fam was a whimsical approach that misses the mark for me.

I only watched Ep 1 "Game Knight" which immediately confirms the show's intention to be a lighthearted, domestic comedy, successfully carrying over the whimsical animation style and quick-paced humor established in Merry Little Batman. The episode is charmingly rendered, and the stylistic choice is certainly distinctive, making it a decent watch on its own terms.

However, the episode's focus on low-stakes, family-sitcom humor, revolving around a simple board game night, clearly signals that the series is aimed at a younger, more casual audience. For those (like me) who prefer the character depth, moral ambiguity, and higher-stakes action-comedy of a show like Creature Commandos, this approach falls short. The episode's narrative, while fun, lacks the grit and thematic complexity that elevates other DC animated properties.

It's a colorful, well-intentioned start, but one that ultimately feels too light if like me you are seeking a more compelling story.

Bat-Fam reimagines Gotham's brooding hero as a dad juggling crime-fighting with parenting chaos. Set after Merry Little Batman (2023), the animated series turns Wayne Manor into a lively home where Bruce Wayne, his son Damian ("Little Batman"), and a few reformed rogues struggle to live together without destroying the mansion.

Its greatest strength lies in its heart. Batman, usually stoic and distant, becomes a relatable parent, tired, funny, and constantly tested by his own family. The humor lands with warmth, balancing superhero antics with moments of genuine care. Themes of teamwork, forgiveness, and messy love make it surprisingly grounded beneath the comedy.

Visually, it leans bright and bold, more Incredibles than Gotham noir. It joins the likes of 60s Batman, Batwheels, Teen Titans Go! And Wayne Family Adventures as examples of kid-friendly takes on the Dark Knight. But where those shows fully embrace their audience, Bat-Fam feels a bit uneven in tone, energetic yet unsure of how young or old it wants to skew.

One odd creative choice is the absence of Nightwing, Batman's first sidekick. It's like a Looney Tunes show without Daffy; something essential feels missing. A brotherly dynamic between him and Damian could have added depth and heart that's rare in modern children's shows. A part of me hopes Bat-Fam succeeds enough to explore that potential later, but for now, it feels like the marketing and the brand name promised one thing and delivered another.

This is a great entry point for kids 4+ and up as an introduction to Batman.

A lot of other series with the cape crusader are too dark and gritty for kids. (aside from lego Batman)

He's getting to know the deep hero and villain base in the dc universe.

I found myself really enjoying this with my son we love it. The animation is easy on the eyes and had a lot of laughs through season 1.

I hope they make more.

You will not find him here.

What you'll find, is a bad sitcom with a reality tv premise.

A total departure from ever single batman there has ever been. You won't find the brooding Tim Burtons version, or the Frank Millers, or Nolans, you wont find the campy Adam West version, you wont even find maligned joel shumaker version (Batman and Robin movie). Not one comic, cartoon, movie, 40s serial, etc, will be represented here.

Badly cast, badly written, badly animated. This show is more out of place in the batman franchise then "Velma" show was in the Scooby Doo franchise. Just a giant intential turd makung sure it is very clear that the whole audience knows, the show runners hate Batman and all the bat family.
