This Too Shall Pass

Annie and Tommy are called to a disturbance at a Pharmacist, where a youth has behaved aggressively, Annie decides no further action is necessary. An ex army man is found dead after an overdose, and a new crime wave is sweeping Belfast.

It picks up exactly where it left off, they've decided to stick to telling stories, and have chosen to stay away from a lot of the current pitfalls that are dogging BBC dramas lately. It's story and entertainment, not the beating stick of politics.

It doesn't let off for a minute, fast paced, dramatic, high energy stuff, it's a cracking first episode, it really does keep you on the edge of your seat.

It's still got a wry sense of humour, and Tommy's chat up scene was a strong, fun moment, it added a much needed lighter scene.

I'm still missing Gerry, and I'm glad he was mentioned, his presence is still felt, a sensible move to replace him with some eye candy, Shane seems like a good character.

I'm glad to see that Jen still has a role, it didn't seem likely that she'd be able to continue, but of course they found a way, she'd a big part of the show.
