    Absolutely Brilliant

If youve never followed his youtube channel 'Crime Pays but Botany Doesnt' Joey Santore is an excellent punk rock botanist. Along with his friend Al they are tranforming suburban hellscapes focusing on native plant and ecosystems. I honestly wish there were more episodes. Joey is not your typical presenter by any means, frequently filled with swearing and hilarious antics the Chicago native comes across a little strong -which is breath of fresh air. Self confessed hater of all the thing garden and makeover shows he succeeds on breaking the mold and offering up something with a little more substance. Good job Joey!

So Calming and Fun to watch

I found this show randomly when flipping channels on cable and couldn't stop watching. The title is a bit confusing but the point of the show is changing suburbs and city properties from "lawn" and perfect "landscapes" to natural plants that thrive in each area. The guys doing the transformations are hilarious and watching rigid and boring lawns transform into beautiful natural habitats that butterflies, bees, and birds love is so refreshing and calming to watch. I learned a lot about what I can do in the future with my property and changed my perspective on lawns that require constant maintenance, chemicals, and water. Now my only goal is to find it streaming online. It is on "EarthxTv" channel on cable so I hope the shows on this channel join discovery or another streaming service.

    BETTER Than YouTube

This show was just a very fun watch. This show is like part nature documentary, part reality TV show, all topped with a bit of edgy humor.

They, of course, kill a lawn in every episode. But along the way you are learning different about obscure plants and animals and how they interact with the ecosystem and make it thrive.

The least interesting part of the show to me is when they bring out the homeowner to explain why they want their lawn redone. You need the setup, but it is kept to a minimum.

Most of the show is them bringing in a local expert, remodeling the lawns, and discussing species. That's the best part and I loved every minute of it. The hosts Joey and Al both have a lot of charisma and make lots of fun quips.

I've seen Joey on his YouTube channel 'Crime Pays but Botany Doesnt,' but truthfully I have never watched very regularly. The pacing and production value of the show make it much more enjoyable. If you like reality TV and educational content, you cannot do much better than this. The last show like this that surprised me was Car Masters: Rust to Riches, which is a very good car mechanic reality TV show on Netflix. I think this is even better.
