To be blunt the film had me engaged and very interested for the first hour, but unfortunately it descended to a bizarre and confusing mess.
I enjoyed how the plot went in a different direction to the first and yet stayed similar, the dialogue and acting I thought was great and just overall it was interesting and left you wanting more. However, the more it went on it just became so messy and I feel as though the director was trying too hard to make the film "thought provoking" and quite "artsy".
I won't do any spoilers, but the ending especially just made zero sense. I had to google what the ending even meant and most critics also don't seem to know either, which speaks volumes. It's honestly such a mess! You can make a film thought provoking and have metaphors for life etc peppered throughout, but you have to incorporate it with a decent plot. And unfortunately this does not. It's just trying too hard at the end of the day and it falls very very flat and confusing.
In relation to the first movie, a few characters return throughout and there was definitely some scenes and dialogue that relate back to the first, which I really enjoyed.
Annoyingly I just can't get past how poor the ending really is. Nothing is answered and I feel as though I've wasted my time here. Directors and writers really need to stop trying to overdo this need to make movies in depth, thought provoking. If you're gonna do it, do it right. And this gets it wrong on so many levels (get it!)
5/10, because the first hour is really good. But the final half an hour completely ruins it!

The Platform 2 attempts to build on the unique premise of its predecessor, but ultimately falls short of its predecessor's impact. While the first film delivered a gripping exploration of class struggle and human morality within a dystopian setting, the sequel feels like a rehash rather than an expansion of the original concept.
The sequel introduces new characters and rules, but they often lack the depth and development that made the original so compelling. The social commentary, which was sharp and thought-provoking in the first film, feels muddled and less impactful this time around. The pacing is uneven, with stretches that drag and moments that feel forced or contrived.
Visually, the film retains some striking imagery, yet it fails to evoke the same visceral tension that kept audiences on edge previously. Ultimately, "The Platform 2" feels unnecessary, as it doesn't add meaningful insights or innovations to the story. While fans of the original may appreciate returning to this world, the sequel serves as a reminder of how powerful the first film was-highlighting just how much it left to be desired in its follow-up.

No sensible plot. No nothing. Just bunch of nonsense. Halfway into the movie I can't help but wondering what this movie is about. And after I finished the movie, I still can't figure out what this movie is about.
As the person who likes The Platform 1/El Hoyo very much, this sequel is very disappointing.
I understand that maybe the writer or the director want a more cinematic movie. But can't you make one with a real plot? Not like this one. Wtf is this.
Do not waste your time watching this movie. Highly anticipated but also highly disappointing. I waited days to watch this and I'm on of the first 59 people who gave stars. I watched this the second it's released. But damn I'm so disappointed lol.

I don't think this film is for the average movie enjoyers such as myself. Even though the first movie ending left a lot of questions unanswered, I liked it. This sequel is of no difference. IMO, first movie showed us the consequences of capitalism and this one shows that socialism is no better. But where is the story in this? Where are the answers to the "normal" questions the fans had? Nothing was revealed. I'm disappointed. May be a sociopolitical expert can interpret it better than me. But for me, I needed some closure or answers and none were offered.
On a postive note, acting was good, nice plot to covey the intended message, not boring.

Like most of the people, I really, really like the first one, in fact is in my personal "top" of all time movies.
With this one, I recall this sort of maxim "When a story needs to be explained, it's because it was poorly told"...
So, in my opinion, this was a pitiful and unnecessary sequel.
Few films have left me feeling as frustrated as this one, I cherish my time with films and other kinds of art, but this experience fell short.
My hype wasn't so high, and yet, the outcome was a disaster.
At the end, I get so confused about the story... I don't really understand why the same people behind the first one, wanted to achieve with this...

Apart from the production design, the cast, and some photography, this was unbelievably bad. They took themselves too seriously because of how well received the capitalism allegory was in the first one, and the second one is about WHAT?? Religion? Legislature? Community? Juntas? Revolutions?
It's an unnecessarily convoluted mess of a script that goes nowhere, neither as a prequel nor as a standalone movie. It's so awful that I went ahead and shaved two stars from my rating of the first one.
Cherry on the cake, a man dedicated to a science abandons his work because he's conflicted about something from that science that is high school basic knowledge. That wouldn't be written in a script even by a hallucinating language model.

Perempuán tries to survive the laws of the jungle, as the platform, the food source for all the inmates inside the prison continues to fall, the source of life for everyone.
I had all but forgotten about the first film, but I remember enjoying it, my hopes were high. Twenty minutes in, I was wondering how on Earth the films score was so low, forty minutes in I was questioning why it was as high as 5.
The first half an hour or so, I really enjoyed, the dynamic between Perempuán and Zamiatin was great, sadly it all fall apart after that, the whole story of politics and society just didn't work, it became a poor art house film, too showy, lacking wny content.
The whole gravity thing, honestly by that point, I totally lost it, I didn't have a clue what was going on. The ending was a total let down.
Good start, shocking after that.
5/10.

The first part was brilliant and I couldn't wait for the second part. The second part is a huge disappointment. This movie doesn't hold attention at all. It is very boring and full of pointless scenes. I barely managed to watch it to the end. The plot of the film does not exist. They probably wanted to make a movie that has a deeper meaning, maybe it does, but it was done in such a bad way that it is unwatchable. Save yourself time and don't watch this big trash of a movie. First part is incomparably better and if you haven't watched it, watch it. Because of the first part, I waited months for the second part and now this complete disappointment. The movie should be rated with one star , but because of the first part, I gave two stars.
This could have been a very good movie. About three-quarters of the film was brilliant, filled with meaning and powerful metaphors, much like the first movie. The character arcs were compelling. However, the last part is absolute trash. While you could attempt to draw meaning from the chaotic final segment, the sad truth is that it feels like a forced attempt to meet certain Netflix requirements. This results in a disjointed and out-of-place segment that leads to an ending that ultimately goes nowhere.
Still, I think it was worth watching, at least for the first half, especially if you are a fan of the first movie. The early brilliance somewhat makes it a worthwhile experience, even if it doesn't fully deliver in the end.

The reason why too many people don't like this masterpiece of a movie is simply they think too much of it that they miss the point, this movie is brutal mockery to humanity itself that's it, the platform will never see peace no matter what happen, religion (the young guy with curly hair)? Nah you'll still see people die and suffer, law? (the blind guy) nah people will disobey leading to dead and suffering both when enforcing it and when they disobey it, Marxism? Nah too good be true, capitalism? Full on chaos.... the system of the blind guy for example is perfect, absolute foul proof, but people still find a way to make it look bad, or take advantage of, and eventually overthrow, so nothing ever good will happen in the platform, as long as there are humans in there. We are evil in nature either intentionally (the rebels) or unintentionally: the blind guy with his brutality, and the girl with her arm chopped trying to nurture a man which if everyone did lot of people die lot more than one sick man, also the protagonist starting a rebel that turned into cannibalism feast, and the fact she feel like the good one because she helped one kid? Lol we humans funny and dumb sometimes.
The first movie was great, an original idea well executed that is beyond a movie, is a psychological study of human behaviour. The second one holds the interesting premise, but, unfortunately, as most sequels do, it wasnt able to achieve the same results. Great and well known actors helps, but they cannot move away the feeling that writters/producers/director were just out for the money, pushing too hard to make a movie that was ordered and not artistically created. The main problem here are the giant plot holes that end up disrespecting the original work. Somethings are meant to be a unity, not a franchise.

This could only be good as a YouTube short film, not as a one-and-a-half-hour movie. This movie lacks all the things the sequels usually do. The plot is almost nonexistent; it just feels hollow. Each character has a story that can be summarized in three words or less in the whole movie. In general, it is a super boring movie, not even close to the first one. This is more like a crazy WWE in the hole.
This also has a lot of incomplete mysteries and real holes in the story. It is not even fun to watch; it is just a bunch of people fighting in "the hole," making this as bad as it can get. In conclusion, I would not recommend this movie even for short entertainment; it is just not fun to watch.

After having enjoyed part 1, I was looking forward for this one but got hugely disappointed.
Inspite of too many questions n almost no answers, the first was was really impressive n captivating.
Expected some answers n a satisfying ending from part 2, but the makers didn't show anything new, in fact more questions are left unanswered, same things from part 1 are included, nothing new or thrilling stuff added in this one.
The suspense, the dreadful atmosphere, the dark comic, etc which were there in part 1 is all missing in part 2.
Mayb the makers are short of ideas of how to conclude the film.

Ok, so the first 15-25 minutes were ok, some good character development and whatnot I suppose, but then something happened to the storyline and the whole thing fell off a giant cliff. The movie suddenly went from cohesive dystopian sci-fi atmosphere building to some mindless or impossible to follow mishmash of violence and abstract artsy crap. A bunch of horrible, out of place characters were suddenly introduced and incoherent relationships between the lead character and various other characters began to be suggested, but you don't actually know when, how and if they took place or if it's all just hallucinations. Maybe there is some logic there, but it was too boring and chaotic to follow and decipher. Anywhere, this whole movie felt like a bad acid trip after the first 20 min or so. Definitely skip this one and avoid making bad associations with the first movie and which was a dystopian sci-fi masterpiece. Sad to say, but this is an instant franchise killer, possibly even worse than Matrix resurrections, if that's even possible.

Netflix has a great horror movies besides another genres. This is one of them. The first one was actually great and I surprised but if the end was a little bit changed first movie would be perfect a movie. This one is also good but of course not as first one. But I say that do not be so prejudgement for this movie guys. It is definitely worth seeing. If you loved first one then you will like it. However, this is definitely not a trash. Acting is ok for me. Shots were really nice. I do not want to give any spoiler about the platform 2 I think it is definitely worth to see. I would give it 6 but since I loved first one I gave it 7. Have a nice watch.
